• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What are you listening to?

I only listen to the older music, for the most part. Don't stream much, but I have a huge collection on thumb drives backed up on an external drive. I don't usually watch music videos, because I am working on something else and the music helps make the work more enjoyable.

To each his own, but I do like the older music from 50s thru the 1990s best. Got several FM Radio Imternet stations bookmarked that play the older Country - Western music, Blues - both vintage and new releases, and the Classic Rock & Roll.

Like a lot of the new movies, many of the new songs being released now are just inferior copies of older music that they are calling remakes.
The modern version of Country/Western is mostly a lot of Pop music princesses singing in their underwear.

Classic Rock. Zepplin, Stones, Pink Floyd, Supertramp. All recorded and played with Bluetooth on my GPS.

I am good with Classic Rock too. Got Classic Rock, Blues, and 60s-70s Country Western on a little cigarette pack size MP3 player that bluetooths to my helmet or to a set of off the ear stereo phones.

If I am somewhere that I can get an Internet connection, I will listen to Gulf 104 - Tallahassee, FL. They play nothing but Classic Rock and about 6 in a row before they take a station break to run the commercials. We could get the FM station here when I was younger, but only at night. They had to turn the power down during the day time. It would come in pretty clear some nights, but fade a lot on other nights. The Internet fixed all that.

Another good one is Aardvark Blues FM, out of Houston, TX. It has a 24/7 Internet presence and also plays 6 or 7 songs in a row before it runs the commercials. Aardvark Blues FM plays a mix of the vintage Blues songs and newly released songs.

Either one of those can be found with your browser and there is nothing to join, no sign in, no having to give your email address... just click to listen, kick back, and enjoy it. Of course, neither one of those stations will refuse a donation if you wish to send them one.

Which is it? You said that you only listen to older music but then you state that you enjoy a mix of vintage Blues along with new releases.

And then you mention my absolute favorite female guitarist, Samantha Fish. I wouldn't consider her stuff 'old music'. We saw her in concert a few months ago, she's awesome but that ain't old time Blues!

Love all the artists on your list above!

Notice that I said that I only "listen to older music, for the most part." The other part is that some of the newer music is quite good, particularly the Blues music. I have watched Samantha Fish when she first started playing the blues festivals, back when she played the guitar and sang on stage barefoot most of the time. She is more into the music videos now and her management makes sure the audience gets a good show, but I liked the performances when she first started playing the Blues festivals. There are some more, like Keb Mo who has a catchy rhythm to his music, the new and the older music. Most of the Blues performers write their own songs, and can play several different instruments very well, like Justine Johnson, who writes and performs the themes for a lot of movies, and can play pretty much any kind of stringed instrument. I will watch some music videos if I have the time, and they are well made. I just don't much care to be reading the daily Headline News, and some news reporter thinks it is National News when a Country-Pop star shows up to watch her boyfriend play football. That one seems to get in the news 3 or 4 times a week, and not for anything music related.

I have pretty varied taste. Several hundred songs downloaded from the old iPod days, and I add anything that catches my ear. Typically it's Country, Classic Rock and Metal, but not the thrasher death metal. But my daily listening depends on my mood. Today I was on a Lincoln Park kick, yesterday it was show tunes, day before local country station.

Very catholic taste in music here, there's very little I don't like......

My three favourite recently released albums at the moment (subject to change from hour to hour :) ) are:

David Gilmour ~ Luck & Strange
Michael Kiwanuka ~ Small Change
Gillian Welch & David Rawlings ~ Woodland Studios

And a big shout out to internet station Radio Paradise https://radioparadise.com/home Listener supported (so no adverts), hardly any talking, high bit rate quality streaming and a fabulous mix of music where I've discovered so much new stuff over the years (y)

When I am on my Spyder running errands, I usually listen to a rock n roll, or an easy listening (80's, 90's, & Today) radio station. Here in Vermont we have several strong signal radio stations that I can pull in. But I am thinking of getting Sirius XM installed on my bike.

Kenny Wayne Shepard, SRV, Allman Bros, Skynard, Black Berry Smoke, 50s 60s, Clapton. Have Sirrius on the bike that is the portable deal so I can swap vehicles with it. Shoot I even like some of the big band swing music. Alley Venable is another one I have been watching on you tube.

Second entry. I have Sirius XM On the Spyder. I like to listen to The Dave Mathews Band, The Grateful Dead and Classic oldies..
