What are the hole sizes for the gauges in the dash of a 2012 RT?

What size are the holes left behind when removing the fuel and temp gauges?

Is there a 12v switched power supply in the general area to use for a 12v outlet?

Thanks

Congrats on the new to you 2012! I removed my gauges and added oil pressure and voltage gauges. They are 52mm or 2” They fit perfectly. If you plan to add an oil pressure gauge, make sure you mount it remotely with an extension. A grease gun hose works perfectly. The engine vibrations will kill a pressure sender. See my post below for pix.

There’s a 12v outlet in the trunk. If it is not switched currently, you can just move the location of a fuse in the fuse box. One location is switched, the other is constant power.

Don't get pissed at me for asking this question please. Why are you removing the gauges?
Because then the gauges will switch over to digital (in the display) and I can mount a volt meter and a 12v socket in their place

Is there not a 12v switched supply available under the dash or in front somewhere?

What kind of power goes to the gauges that are being removed?

The gauge power is switched. I don’t know how many amps would be available though. You can use 4mm bullet connectors too so as to not have to splice anything. If you want to leave the gauges, there is a switched accessory circuit down by the battery. Sometimes it’s loose, or it may still be mounted. But it’s near the left side of the battery. 2 wires, power and ground.

Correction, it’s the left side of the bike, right side of the battery as you’re looking at it. However, I just realized a small detail… my 2013’s battery is in the frunk. Yours I think is under the seat on a '12. So, I’m not sure where the accessory circuit is on yours. I’m sorry. It should have one though.

That's where I was going to go with the question. I didn't know if you knew that. I did the same when I owned my '12.

I think there is enough power going to the gauges to use for my purpose. On the right, a voltmeter, and on the left, this FM Transmitter that doubles as an MP3 player by using an SD card:

I will create a 3.5mm male jack with a wire going back to the 7-pin DIN input in the trunk and use it for AUX music input.

I have been using one for a few years on my car and they work great.

BTW - did my Audio & Convenience package only come with two front speakers? There are spots for rear speakers but no sound there. And, if it didn't come with them, are they pre-wired so I can just drop some speakers in (and what size speakers)?
