• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What are peoples reaction when they see a Spyder?

Is that thing safer than the one with two wheels?
Yes
Bull !!!!
Ride one and see for yourself. Just not this one!!! This one is mine:yes::yes::yes:

Coment have slowed some since more Spyders are around. Still get a lot, most fun a few twit, but ignore them.
One scene I did not/could ignore right after I got my 08 GS (later similar models called RS). Just getting a little dark out and my mirrors are full of flashing red and blue lights. As I was stopping I am trying to figure out what I did. I hit the kill swith with my thumb and waited. A local sheriff came up and informed I had bugs on my license plate. Then he started asking nice questions about the Spyder. I was nice and answered them. He said, thank you and left. I was thinking other things, but said nothing.
Have fun and ride safe

Here in Oz where there aren't really too many of them around, stopping anywhere can add 20 minutes to my trip - EVERY time I stop!! Even at the traffic lights!! :yikes:

Take the little dog as well (he's white, fluffy, and smaller than Teddy, with almost as much character! ;)) and I can easily make that 20 mins per stop into 40 minutes per stop!!

Altho sometimes I don't even hafta stop - got a Police Motorcycle escort up the freeway the other day, with both blokes taking it in turns to ride alongside and ask questions - somehow I think the local Cops might be looking into getting Spyder RT's sometime soon! :2thumbs:

So does any of yall catch hell when you go to bike fest or bike night or large events like Daytona?
95% positive at Quacker steak bike nights in Beavercreek (Dayton) Ohio. A couple bad, mostly the ones smelling of beer. Not allowed to walk around with it. Same questions as most on here

6 Blocks away

I always wanted to know when people say to Spyder owners when at a gas station or at a red light. I noticed when I took mine out for the first time all eyes are on me at gas stations and red lights. It almost look like they wanted to say something but they never did. I am sure I will find out but since this is my first Spyder and I only had it a day. What I am I going to expect?
I had just taken delivery of my 2013 RT Ltd. last June and was 6 blocks away from the dealer at a stop light, a truck stopped beside me and asked what it was and if I liked it. I answered that it was a CAN AM Spyder and I just picked it up from the dealer and had not even been a mile on it. He said, "But do you like it?"

I answered, $30K, I better like it, and the light changed to green.

You will have so many questions, they want to know everything. I have made a placard with the questions and answers which I place on the seat when I am parked. You will also have the opportunity to share, make new friends, and bring smiles to faces of men, women, young, old, M/C riders and non M/C riders.

ENJOY YOUR NEW ADVENTURE...

Here is a copy of my placard which answers MOST of the questions I have been asked. I you want it in the proper format, PM me with your email address and I will send it to you.
