West Coast Spyder Event... interested??

If you are talking August of this year, I would say we are not going to make it. One big vacation this year is about all we will be able to do and we are committed to Cuba. If you do this annually though, I know we would love to get out that way for a nice ride.

Yes, August 2011. I understand that there will be those who will not be able to make it. I plan on making this an annual event. I hope my husband and I can make it successful. The first year might be rocky... but who cares.... beautiful scenery, Spyders, friends... what more could one ask for? :)

Sounds good to us. We can make it. Would be better than sturgis and safer too. The ryde there would be great, through Reno, Tahoe, Sac. and on. Moabgirl says yeah.:ohyea:

Good to hear!! And yes, it would be a great ride up for you two. I am so excited to hear how many of you are interested in coming. I really hope that my husband and I can make this a reality for everyone. There is a lot of work to do. :helpsmilie:

Hey,

SpyderFest will be my first rally ever so at this point I don't even know what the question is let alone the answer. Hope to have something to bring to the table after SpyderFest. Newberg, Or. is not really in your neghborhood, but I'll help out if I can.

Keep dreamin'

Great to hear John! And since this is quite an undertaking for my husband and I, there would be no way to make it successful without the help and support of all SpyderLovers!

I am open to any an all ideas that you may have, and if you are local, please contact me if you think you can help.

Sponsorship would also be very helpful and I would like to make this event as successful as Spyders in the Smokies, the BRP owners event, and Spyderfest.

West Coast Spyderfest

Like you posted earlier ..... Lets tour all the area, there are areas that are not visited by the tourist that the locals can direct us to. We have been talking about spending time in the Redwoods for years and now we are going to because of your rally. If we can be of any help up here in Wa. let us know.
You might contact the Chamber of Commerce and share you idea and see what they can come up with.

Keep it simple.

PS; Thanks for your idea and hard work. :2thumbs:

Thank you all so much for the positive feedback!!

I guess the question is would you like to see a 3 day (which is what is currently planned) or 4 or 5 day event (Monday - Friday)??

Currently the dates are penciled in for Wednesday, August 3rd - Friday, August 5th, 2011.

And if you have any ideas of something you'd like to see or have at the event, please post it on up here. Currently I have found a vendor to make pins for the event and I have already come up with a design.

Let me know what you all think so I can plan accordingly. :)

WCSF # of days

In regards to number of days would be based on the number of events or tours. You have to consider the time factor for those that have jobs and travel time.

Just a thought .... :chat:

Well of course we would do Avenue of the Giants, but there are some other nice rides up that way.

And the reason I chose the dates I did was taking into consideration travel time.... maybe a Tuesday - Thursday would be better???

We are in the first stage of trying to plan an annual event for Spyder owners on the west coast which would be the first week in August. I am curious to see how many would be interested in attending an event similar to Spyders in the Smokies that would take place in the redwoods on the northern California coast?
Just did that ride this past summer(put 14000 mi on my '10 RT):2thumbs:. Tried to get there for your birthday (suit) ride but missed connections:(. Maybe you could add the "Naked Bike Thing" to your enticements for your August ride:thumbup:.

Eureka works for me.. a 3 day event also works. Looking forward to a lunch on the Trinidad dock…. also, cutting the corner on 199 through the redwoods could take you straight up to Crater Lake - another great ride…. :chat:

Thinking about possibly extending it to a 4 day rally. A ride up to Crater Lake would be fantastic. I've never been up there.
