• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We're Shopping Tomorrow...

Not hearing from Bob could be a good thing-
he's out driving it with a big **** eating grin on his face,

Or a bad thing-
He's back at the stealership with his hands around the salesman's throat telling him the cabinets fell off....

It is legal to count your RV or boat as a second home (it has to have cooking and sanitary facilities) and deduct mortgage interest on your income tax return just as you would your home.

I am also thinking you can claim mortgage interest on only ONE mortgage. Same thing for snowbirders--which state are you claiming as residence--re-home taxes and license plates.

We run into that with Permanent fund dividends. People that are not permanent residents can get into a heap of trouble. The Alaskan Bush people got into a lot of trouble on that one. Turns out they are NOT AK residents and live elsewhere in the off season. :roflblack::roflblack:

 I'll get you all some pictures: I promise!
But Friday evening we were picking apples in our tiny 4 tree orchard, and I took a nine-foot backwards fall off of a ladder... :banghead:
As near as I can tell: I smacked down hard over just at the base of my right shoulder blade. My head didn't make any dents in the rocks, so I think that it never did anything to break my fall...

So I feel like crap, and I think that I've got a busted rib or two (No emergency yet...) I'm sort of taking it day by day with the pain.

But we DID set up for some driveway camping!

Dang!

Well, crap Bob .... that just plain sucks! Hope you are wrong on the broken ribs (bruised is not good either, but might heal quicker). Take care of yourself and we will all wait (somewhat impatiently for some of us) for pictures.

All the best .... Ann

Gee Bob, a apple a day is supposed to keep the doctor away...;). Seriously, hope you feel better soon, and there's nothing broken.

Best way to learn your rig is to driveway camp.
Supplies you never thought of are only a short walk away, and it's not as embarrassing trying to figure something out when your in your own driveway. :roflblack:

Man, that's awful. Hope your back to your norm soon...

I can attest that it just isnt as easy to recover from a fall or sprained or confused body part like it was when we were younge. Glad it wasn't any worse....
beautiful rig .....! I'm sure you and the Mrs's will enjoy for many years..

Anyone considering claiming more than one mortgage interest should verify this with their tax advisor but it was legal not too long ago. I believe the federal limitation was two homes at that time. States with income taxes might differ.

As for snowbirds, AZ pro-rates your income tax based upon the amount of time you spend here (partial year residents). This assumes you have taxable income in AZ. Other states may do things differently.

License plates are issued for one or two years (or permanently in case of trailers) but there are no exceptions for partial year residents. If their primary home is in another state they are allowed to keep those plates.

Did you learn nothing from Me?

Needed to make a typo correction here ...

My advice too--talk to a tax advisor who is at least a practicing CPA to make sure you are legal in your particular endeavor. I might even suggest a second opinion.

Maybe you should go ATGATT while you pick apples, Bob! :lecturef_smilie: I hope you'll recover soon.

Before crawling into the Tylenol Bottle: I did take some pics today...

That looks great! And you've got it all set up to party in your driveway! Now you'll have somewhere to put up all the visitors to your place! Are you taking reservations? :ohyea::ohyea::ohyea:

Bob very nice rig.Congrats

I am somewhat envious of a new unit like that.

My 10 year old used one is gonna take MONTHS to find and fix all the little stuff that is broken......or was modified by the PO.

It is REALLY nice to be able to back up without a trailer attached.

How does the Spyder fit in the "garage" ??

It's gonna be tight... but do-able!
I've been in contact with other RT owners, and even a Tri-Glide owner: they all DO fit...
The T-G is even an inch longer than our bikes! :D

Bob, if you need any tie downs, I highly recommend these two sites. I bought a bunch of different configurations for my enclosed trailer to secure the Spyder and the 622 trailer to the etrack with the exact ends I wanted. They were very reasonable and great to deal with.

Thanks, Brent!
I've got probably twenty different straps here in the garage. I'm sorting through the best of them for this job! :D

(Between snowmobiles, ATCs, ATVs, and dirt-bikes: you end up collecting a bunch of them over the years...)

I have about 3 in. of clearance when I load mine.

i certainly understand what you mean when you say "it's a tight fit"..!And I have to back mine in tooo ..! But as long as it fits, that's all that matters and it doesn't exceed the load limit.
