went for 2 nice rides last week, around 70 degrees,, 6 inches of snow and 20 degrees this am. with no power to boot..lol

April 19th and its 32 degrees this morning here in northern Illinois. I went for my first ride of the season on March 1st thinking we were having an early Spring, and have been out several times in March. Then April brought winter like weather back. So much for "global warming". (Climate change supporters will quickly dismiss weather that is unusual saying weather and climate are two different things, but when its a broiling hot summer day, they speak a different tune. The Earth may be warming, but at a level that is barely noticeable and I for one do not plan on giving up any of my gasoline powered vehicles, of which I own five, anytime soon.)

We had a cold rain yesterday. But for the next 7 days, there is no rain and the wife and I start our mini vacation in the NC mountains Thursday. But I just found out that motorcycles (and even spyders) are not allowed in the community where we are staying for the next 4 days. That really sucks because the wife is finally getting comfortable on her own ride and was actually willing to ride hers to scope out some mountain roads. On top of that the temps are supposed to be around 62-66 degrees each day.

That's not a vacation if you can't ride your bikes in my opinion. I would think about a different location or postpone until spyders are allowed. JMHO.........Bill Good Luck

I know, but the wife is in accounting and we usually like to go someplace the week after the whole tax thing is over. We will be going back to the area 2-3 more times this year, and are staying in bike friendly places. Besides, it will not be all that bad. We can still catch the breeze, but in a different way;)
This is from last year.

Finally it was nice yesterday in the Salt Lake Valley, it said it might be nice all week. Trouble is we need the rain or snow for the water, it's going to be another year of bad drought it seems so far.

I can surely relate to your comment about accountants and tax season. I did that for two years before I decided that taxes were not for me. 80 plus hours per week from January through tax date. No overtime....that was included in the yearly salary quote. I know that I was ready to take a vacation and all those around me were too.

Oh, how wonderful the benefits of living in the NE - NOT !!!! I have taken a few rides on the F3 T and trying to put some "break in miles" on my wife's Ryker UNTIL today. I live in upstate NY ( Catskill Mountains ) and we got lucky as usual in our valley with only 4" - 5" of wet heavy snow and no power outage, but I can't say the same for other surrounding areas. Our grand daughter had to go to Oneonta, NY for her job this morning and saw THREE transformers on fire with blue flames shooting out of them during her 20 mile drive. Of course, the road crews were once again loading the roads with salt even though they were clear and just wet. Now we have to wait until we get rain to wash the roads clean again to prevent things on vehicles from rusting. Anyone in a warmer climate be thankful for milder shorter winters. We are use to this weather and unpredictable springs ( have seen snow in the beginning of May ) but it still SUCKS. Hopefully, this will be the last of winter weather. LET'S RIDE !!!!! Yeehaaaa !!!!

April’s always a mess. Around the lakes in the snow belt area we get 19.1 inches average in April. The last 3 years have been a off but not this year. We’ve only had 1 over 70 degree day this year only 2.3 inches under the norm of 168 inches. Been a normal winter on the west side of state. Hate to say it, but I remember in 93 and 95 over Easter you guys getting 20 inches. I was stuck there for 3 days over 1 foot of snow. Problem is the snow is heavy and wet at this time of year and the east side of PA doesn’t have the equipment to move it. I remember when I was over there watching a garbage truck with a 4x8 pushing snow once. We’re used to it here and it’s just the time of the year. You guys should be in the 70’s and lower 80’s by the weekend so enjoy it then.

April Weather

:coffee:....I agree with you on that one. This April the temperatures are all over the place.
One day nice and the next day not so good.
The rain is being a really big issue in my local area.

The Farmers were hoping to get out there and start the planting season. Usually around April 22 but looking like May 1st now. Time will tell about the start date.
