• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well it's on. But, everybody does not play nice together!

Spent most of Saturday installing the Corbin bags on the Spyder. Here's what we found.

The Corbin bags do not work well out of the box with the Micron pipe system. I am very disappointed because we went to great pains to get Corbin an early prototype elbow at their request so "they could make sure their bags would work with aftermarket pipes too" and yet it is not even close! This system is clearly designed to use the stock exhaust with it's huge offset hanger.

After re-engineering the exhaust hanger mount on the right side Corbin bag bracket, and repositioning the front of the pipe further out on the collector with an extra gasket to allow this, NOW it fits, works, and looks like it should have out of the box on an $1800 bag set up.

I spoke to Mike yesterday and sent Corbin pictures of what needs to be done to make his bags work with aftermarket pipes. He said is going to look into doing the bracket mods, at least that is what he said?

However, until the design changes I sent him are incorporated into the right side bag bractet, these two items do not play well together out of the box at all., and we do not recomend the average person use the two together.

On an few good notes.....

One, the thing now does look, fit and sound like it should so it is totally possible to do.

Two, the stock BRP outdoor cover still fits with both the faring and bags now on and covers everything, which really surprised me.

Three, the things are huge inside! They hold almost anything you'd ever want to bring. With a total between the front and the two bags of 35 gallons of space now you can really take it all with you.

Geez, that's tough, MM.

And I was just looking at the Corbin site yesterday and thinking, "Cool--the new bags fit with the Micron pipe! Maybe I will pop for them..."

Do you think they did all the adapting work that you did, or did they do a Photoshop on the image?!
(I know they must've p-shopped that photo of the "silver" Spyder, it's practically white.

Their 5th photo down on this page had the Micron I'm sure...

I saw the Corbin bike in LG and the exhaust system looked to me like Edward Scissor Hands put it on! It was twisted and cocked and had leaks big time!

I did not want to say anything there in his booth to embarrass him in front of everybody, but when they started the Spyder it had a huge exhaust leak at the big end because everything was so cocked and twisted to try to cob it on the bike. I just had to walk away and shake my head!

At the time I did not know if it was just an installer problem, or as it turned out to be a real product problem. So, that is why I did not bring it up to him there without firsthand knowledge. Once I saw what it was yesterday, I was right on the horn with him saying what the *&#% is this crap!

Because, as it comes now this is a case of "kids don't try this at home" for sure.

I bet someone designing it at Corbin said: "How many people will change out the stock muffler... probably not many." Then when the show came along the bike had the Micron and the installer may have said: "$&*%@, i can' get this &^$%@ bracket to fit; I'll just jam it in here, I go to get this bike to the show!"

I would be VERY interested in how Corbin spins this and turns it around. The way to correct this would be two fold; defined pictures of the proper rack install with a Micron and then a free exchange for those that purchased the i'll fitting brackets.

They must know now that if someone is going to take the effort to install Corbin bags, there is a very high probability that they will change the stock pipe too.
