• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well it was fun while it lasted but i'm moving on!

The ad in WingWorld was by Gene's Gallery in Springfield. They've been installing GW mods and trike kits for years. They may be at Spyderfest since it would same as local for them.

Remember back in the '60s, I think it was, when Honda, Kawasaki, and others were selling three wheel ATVs? There was a huge class action lawsuit against them because the 3 wheel ATVs were unstable, and people, especially kids, were getting killed on them. It's my understanding that as part of the settlement Honda and the others agreed to never again produce and sell a 3 wheel vehicle. That's why you'll never see a 3 wheel from Honda, and probably Kawasaki and Yamaha. Harley and Can Am were never part of the 3 wheel ATV debacle and thus are free to produce the 3 wheelers we have from them today.

For those who don't know, the reverse on the Goldwing uses the starter motor to move the bike backwards. I'm sure it's not as robust as the Can Am transmission mechanical reverse is, but it works and works well.

Absolutely correct. I didn't realize Genes Gallery was a dealer until recently. My bad. TricWing was the only one that I was aware of. But it does make sense (now) that there would likely be an R18 at Spyderfest.

I do remember the old ATCs Honda made. The 110s had balloon tires and a fixed suspension. Very unstable rides, but we had a lot of fun on them!

Also correct on the Wing reverse. It does work well, but if there was one thing that I could bring forward from the Spyder to my Wing, I'd choose the reverse gear of the Spyder over the Y factor. That may shock some folks,,, but due to my riding style, I have absolutely no handling problems with my traditional trike. My wife and I are cruisers.. And for that, I am loving my current ride.

Now. If I could just recover from this damn hip surgery and RIDE, then all would be right in my world! LOL

 How long has it been since the surgery?

Then there is this: http://www.tiltingmotorworks.com/

Considering the last dated update on his site is Sept 2012 I wonder if he's actually in production. No prominent mention about Goldwing conversions as there was at one time, just Harley's. One of the reasons I got the Spyder was they exist, and his conversions don't, even though I really wanted to consider one for my '05 'wing.

Tilting Motorworks is interesting. But like you said, seems primarily focused on Harley's right now. But I am also a Harley fan, so that would be OK. But I am subscribed to their Facebook page and there doesn't seem to be much news from them lately.

It has been a long month since the surgery Bob. If it had been a normal hip replacement, with the new anterior approach, I'd likely be close to riding. But unfortunately, I had some screws and hardware in that hip (from a wreck 35 years ago) that had to come out. So they had to cut me on the backside and spend three hours getting all the old stuff out. Then they sewed me up and flipped me over to do the new install from another cut in the front. When all was said and done, I have over three feet of scars on that leg now from the old incident and the new repair. So,,,, long story short, I will probably have an 8-12 week recovery to just be able to walk unaided. Who knows how long before I can ride? But another 6-8 weeks I'd think.

Sucks, but it will all be worth it later.
