• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well it happened

I think the metal relay you were refering to is the starter solenoid. It is basically a high current realy for the starter motor. Also have you tried just disconnecting the battery for a few and trying again, you would be surprised how often that works. Also check the connections under the seat where the relay is and the ground. I guess no Chatterbox.

well i have not tried that but i suppose i could real quick as for the box i might be their with my daughters bike i will let you know

Ok, I'm not sure I can even make it tonight but I will try, anyone else going? Also make sure there are no pinched wires or anything on your bike, I've seen that cause issues and throw codes.

:dontknow:
Just a shot in the dark, Rog, could it be that your battery just gave up the ghost? I noticed when you were at the Chatterbox last Thursday you had all kinds of lights turned on with out running the engine.
If there's a bad cell in your battery it will show full charge on the charger,
but when you put a load on[starting] it will fully discharge. I would try jump start from another battery .

I tried everything that my fellow spyderlovers suggested but nothing the bike is on the tow truck going to the dealer it still maybe something simple but i ran out of time. I will be surprised if i get my bike back tomorrow or saturday eh whatever i am easy.

Do Keep us posted Sir! It's weird stuff like this that could dawg us all at some point in our Spyder lives. That's just one of the many reasons I love this site. There is a wealth of good information and good people willing to share it. Good luck. I'm thinking simple fix for you!! :2thumbs: Simple fix, simple fix, simple fix...

Sorry to hear that you may not have your :spyder2: for the weekend. After all this rain, it looks like it may be a nice one. Let's hope that it's a quick easy fix. It will be interesting to hear what the outcome is.

i will let you all know the out come, The weekend is not a total loss saturday i can use my daughters bike she is going shopping then to a concert at the original woodstock site by the way if you are ever in the area the museum is really cool it takes about 2 hours to see it. :2thumbs:

UPDATE

Update!! the spyders problem has been fixed and i got it back saturday afternoon as i thought an easy fix But i caused the problem i added lights on the side of the rear fender brackets and when i laid out the wire it apparently got pinched and the vibration put a slit in it and causing it to go to limp mode, all is better i will reattach those lights and run them the right way. I don't believe that i would have found the problem because i can hook up lights but i'am not very good at finding shorts although i could have figured that was the problem. So my 2010 rs se5 aka the tangerine terror is good to go. Thank you everyone for your advice. :yes::yes::yes:

Good deal man! Count that as a lesson learned. It didn't sound like a serious condition. Long live the tangerine terror :2thumbs:

:2thumbs: Glad to hear that you're back on the road again and that it was an easy fix. I agree, "shorts" are very difficult to trace down and most annoying. I've been dealing with one of my own all summer and finally think that I've got it nailed down. It's also probably due to some light additions although the lights themselves are not the problem.
Ryde safe! :yes::yes::yes:

I called it, LOL. Glad to see your back online, these little setbacks suck sometimes but you learn from things like this making it somewhat worth it.
