Weird tire wear

Good evening to all of you who are more in the know on the Spyder. My reat tire is is worn to the wear bar on the wear bar on the left outer tread, all the rest are good.this is on an 09 GS SE5 the tire is the Arachnid running 30 psi. Any one seem this before the rear was installed at a dealer approx 6500 miles ago the fronts were done at the same time they are wearing even and still have good tread. Any thought greatly appreciated

I ran 3 Arachnids on the rear of my 14 RT and all of them wore on the outer edges - both edges. It didn't matter what tire pressure I ran they all wore the same. In my opinion Arachnid tires are just as crappy as Kendas.

Mine had the same issue. Don't see me going back to that tire unless there quality control improves.

Seemed to me there was less meat on one side of the tire than the other from day one. Over time you will see what you have in the picture

I had 8K on mine but could have went longer

Maybe its due to road crown, I see the same thing on the 300 tire on my bike.

Mi brother ad the same probleme whith his rear Arachnid tire an the Riendeau BRP Dealer ou instaled it said it's cause to bad inlinement. An they install a new Kenda an did not charge for it.

thanks for your input, definitely not going with the arachid tire again either the kenda or a car tir seeing how some of the riders out there have had good things to say about them, will let you guy know how it turns out

I installed a kumo on my 2014 RT when my original Kenda wore out at about 7,500 miles. I just turned 20k and have plenty of tread left. The kumo also only cost around 80-85 bucks at Discount tire.

:agree: I got 18K on my first rear tire, and 12+ on my second, replaced because I got a nail in it, advised to not plug. Next Kendra I forget how many miles, Replaced my front tires at 32K, since having squared away aligned the OEM have around 24+ still look good. Road temps in So Cal aren't that bad on the tires I guess.

I am running the General Altimax RT 43 on the rear, replaced the Kenda @ 5,824 it was not safe . It was down to the ware bars. I have 10,176 miles on the General, size: 215/60 R15. I have a 2014RTS-SE6. Here is a picture: I am running @ 26 psi. Deanna

Yeah, we all have different drivers, AK. It's a pity Can Am doesn't see the value in letting their dealers replace tyres with car tyres though. I know they have an agreement with Kenda, but there is NO question that I would take my F3 to my local dealer to have the tyre replaced, rather than do it myself, if the option were available.

Kenda's are fine for the front ..... For the rear they wear out very early .... Get a General Altimax RT43 in 215/60-15 or Michelin Primacy or Pirelli 4 season Plus ...... Mike :thumbup:

​I have always used Kenda's and think there great Mike. Here they cost $180 and that includes free install.

The new compound is almost doubling the mileage and still is soft enough to have excellent traction when wet. Not so the car tires! I personally feel they are a safer tire and much easier to find. Most Spyder dealers stock them. Come April I will celebrate 66 years of riding Motorcycles. Only added this to let you know I am not a "newbie" when it comes to motorcycle tires. There is a whole lot more to motorcycle tires than mileage. I hope everyone realizes this for there own safety.

I don't know whose posts you have been reading, Jack, but they couldn't have been Mikes or Peters if you think they suggest that you replace the Kendas with car tyres simply for mileage considerations. The arguments they present are ALWAYS about rider safety first.
