Is there a website somewhere that documents the changes in model years? For example when did they change to the 1330 motor and what are the differences between the '18 and '19 model year?

That kind of stuff. Is there someplace to locate that info? Thanks!

2014

2014 was when the RT came out as the 1330 triple. 2015 introduced the F3 using the triple.

The new display screen, and the six-speaker system, and the new placement of the radio, new wheels, and the loss of AM radio...

In a nutshell:

2008 GS introduced. Later that year SE tranny.

2009 RS (designation changed from RS)

2010 RT introduced

2014 RT with three cylinder introduced. F3 introduced.

2015 plus--updates to F3 with "T" (touring version), "L" (limited version).

My opinion--I think they are getting ready to phase out the RT also.

2018 Ryker introduced.

Tweeks to most models each in between year. Mostly color changes.

Don't remember the exact years they had an RSS and ST model--(both based on the RS)--someone will fill in those blanks.

I agree. The RT and the F3 are going to "meld" into one bike. I was at the dealers today for an oil change and we were shooting the sh_t. The fact is still the same year after year...the RT sells more units than all the others and F3 sales are comparable to the RS. My guess is we see an F3 RT which is an F3 with comparable storage and passenger comfort to the current RT. Also more floorboard and seat adjustment ability to allow for the more upright RT seating position or the current F3 setup.

If there is going to be a melding of the two, I suspect the new line would borrow one of the best features of the Ryker and offer a highly adjustable "Tool-free UFit system" that would allow you to adjust your riding positions for both cruising (F3 positions) and touring (RT two-up comfort positions). My wife and I love our RT for riding two-up but when I ride alone I find myself wishing I had the F3.

Great question, we were all noobs at one point.

This Community is a wealth of information, yet
is only as good as the input from each of the
Spyderlovers members. I looked at your profile
to see what you are riding, but does not say,
only that you reside in Texas, same state my
brother and niece are in. He is in Cedar Park
and she in Cypress.

What would be wonderful but don't think will
catch on is when the Author of a thread that is
of important knowledge, or later becomes that,
would be to put tags (up to 5 are allowed) so
that when someone else types in a search,
there would be more precise answers reached.
I have done this several times, this is also good
for when someone else "google searches"
So ie; if you were to put in the tag "history of can-am spyder".
This thread would be listed world wide. Amazing!:dg1:

Also you say you are a noob, but joined August of 2014, never mind just read your other thread where you state you are not an owner,
I am impressed you have been able to hold out for this long gotta be a great story there!
So hope you get to demo, decide which one and purchase :dg2:
