• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I wonder what the group thought. Spyder covers or after market covers. If after market where might I shop on line? I have an RTS so I have an antenna that needs to be accounted for. I bought a 2012 Spyder that I have named Ruby. It is great fun. Thank you for your help.

I've got both of BRP's covers for my RT...
The travel cover carries easy;(It's got it's own attached stuff sack!), it attaches easily; once you've got the ends sorted out, ad it seems to stay put pretty well...
The full cover is a real bear to put on! It's tight and secure, but it's not a cover that you'd throw over the bike for a short duration...
But if I had to store my bike outside, :yikes:, it would be the one that I used!

:agree: I park my spyder outside during the summer months and use the BRP full trailer cover. At first it was a brute to put on but now in its 3rd season of use it is easier to put on and take off. The spyder stays dry and protected from the summer sun. In my opinion you only get what you pay for . This cover is expensive but worth every penny.
During the winter months the spyder is stored inside at my dealership.

Thanks all. This was my first ever post. I have a pole building and a garage. I was concerned about winter coverage in the pole building. I also don't want to travel and get rained on but this is Michigan and it seems like it has rained ever other day since I got Ruby. You all gave me the seasoned information I expected. Gary

Use the BRP covers on both the RT and RS. Have the travel cover I use the most and love it. Have used the Nelson Riggs cover for the RS but find it fades a lot in the sun and weather where the BRP covers remain looking nice even after 3 years constant use.

I too have both BRP covers. Since our garage is full of man cave stuff, the CanAm is stored outside under the boat port March until November. I use the smaller cover most of the time. I was having problems with cats or squirrels climbing on it. Though it takes a couple of minutes to put on, it keeps the dirt and small critters off.

I agree that you get what you pay for, and my covers still look brand new.

Just my opinion.

As a full time RVer, I have no garage. So for the now gone RS, I used a Nelson Riggs full cover all the time. After 2 years, it was quite brittle and did have a tear in one spot. For the new RT-S, I have an Ultraguard - fits very well, not too bad handling to cover the Spyder. Has locations for antennas although I just installed a stubby antenna to make it easier. Overall after a month, very pleased.

Cover.

Gary, whatever cover you end up using, unless the cover has a built in soft cloth protection for the windshield, be sure to cover the windshield with something like a pillow case before you put the cover on, or the cover will scratch the windshield. I still have a soft cloth windshield cover from my former Wing that I put on first, and then I install the BRP travel cover. <M>

Is ultra guard a brand name? Gary
