• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Water in the Trunk

8 legs nz

New member
Went in to Boyds here in New Zealand local Spyder motor bike shop to ask if any customers have had this happen to them know one but me .

Even if the spyder is parked up at work and heavy rain on Friday yes lot's of it in the bottom of the trunk the rubber bung dose not seem to let it out funny set up thay have in there.

Seem"s to be coming in from the right hand side, looked at it after work when I got home Friday night you could see a wet mark but as to how it's getting in ?? I have noticed that the trunk is made up of too parts the top and bottom may be the glue needs to be up dated.

Now what type glue to use with that plastic used ??
Help if any one know's :helpsmilie:

When I get to the bottom of this I will let you all know.

trunk seal?

i guess you mean your front trunk seal? it sounds like the rubber gasket is loose or not attatched properly. check that first, and inspect it for a hole or tear. you could coat it with lipstick, then close the lid. it will '' print ''the gasket outline on the trunklid so you can see where the problem is. if it's a bad joint in the plastic, seal it up with black or clear silicone.

My 08' GS frunk leaks. I replaced the gasket with the update from Spyderpops and it still leaks, just not as much. The frunk lid appears to be properly aligned, so I just live with it. I am fortunate that I live in a desert type climate with little rain or else I'd be in trouble.

Leaks..!!

When searching leaks I used to use Arid extra dry deoderant which sprayed on a powder. Spray this or something like it around the area below the seal to see where it tracks. Tape a plastic sheet across and see if water pools showing it is the seal leaking. If all fails drill a hole at the bottom so it will drain out...:roflblack:
