• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Washing spyder without a water hose.

I have found that this works best for me. Its free, all natural and always open.

Cleanliness is next to godliness

My RT has never and will never see a hose. I use a bucket of clean water and good rags to thoroughly clean my baby. I use clean towels (I have a good supply of old bath towels.) to dry and wipe all the surfaces except the clear plastics. As needed I wax the painted/pigmented surfaces with Carnuba paste wax. I use computer screen cleaner on the windshield and the clear plastic wiping with a micro fiber cloth. Of course leather cleaner conditioner on the seat and Mequiar's Ultimate Protection for the hard black surfaces. For the harder to remove road grime and bug spots I rub them off with Nu Finish Scratch Doctor. This all sound like allot of work but it actually takes less than one hour and the results are fabulous. Like others have said here I dust by ryde between cleanings.

Can I ask why you would never use a hose? Is it just a saving water thing?

It took about an hour the other day to clean the rear wheel. I don't think I could have done it without a hose. I used Armor All Wheel Protectant once it was cleaned. Next time the rear wheel should be much easier to clean.

Once it's cooled off, I use a hand sprayer with Windex-like cleaner for the whole bike. Works well on everything in my experience.

YMMV.

Water and electronics don't like each other. I know that Can Am sealed everything well but I don't want to take any chance of spray from the hose getting into areas I can't dry and that it shouldn't. Also, I clean my ryde in my garage.

I sometimes use EzWax http://greenautoproducts.com/ when I need to do a quick wash, BUT I do have to be careful not to get any overspray on the black plastic. I prefer to water wash my Spyder since it's difficult to get into the tight areas with the EzWax. I have noticed that my Spyder really shines when I wash her now. :ohyea:

each to there own but some say there bike will never see a hose and i would have to say I have been caught in some very bad down pours on the interstate and if that isnt like getting hit by a pressure washer i dont know what is im just sayin:spyder::dontknow:

Lemon Pledge

Lemon pledge and a microfiber cloth. I have also used the cleaner made for LCD TV screens. Pledge is alot cheaper!

Peak window cleaner from Walmart. 1 gallon, $.99cents. Peak bug wipe from Walmart. 1 gallon, $1.12. Mix the 2 gallons together. Get spray bottle from Home Depot, the good one, about $3.75. Fill spray bottle and pickup wipe cloths. Spray :spyder2:s and wipe off. Works on the wind shield and leaves no scratches or bugs. Then wipe down with Ice polish. :spyder2:s go faster when clean and the pearl white is fastest.
