• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

warranty/recall concerns

I put down a deposit on a SE5 with goal of picking it up after the 25th of April. On these discussion sites, I keep reading about recalled brake fluid filler caps, radiators etc...

I know this is a dumb question::dontknow:
If an item is recalled on these sold Spyders, do the ones in the showrooms and fresh off the assembly line get turned around and get the recall fixed before sale?:2thumbs:

or is it like computer programs; you get the program and then you get the updates & corrections later? :(

Is there anywhere there is a list of all the recalled items?:yikes:

Congratulations on your new spyder. I don't believe there is a recall per se for the SE5. There are a couple of service bulletins that only come into play when your machine displays those particular symptoms.

Best thing to do is have the dealer refrence the VIN with the ones for each recall. This will tell you if it needs to be performed. The only ones i would think that would be needed would be any assembled after the Service Bullitin was issued. For the SE5 the only 2 that i'm aware of is the Parking brake fix (must) and the Gear Position Sensor, Spring and Buds update for the second one. (usually only done if problems occur)

Dealers should look up the vin and correct all of your concerns before it ever leaves the shop. They do not always do that but they have the ability to if they desire..

I don't remember anything about the radiators but those brake filler caps were fixed at the factory once the problem was discovered. As long as you aren't buying a 2007 or very early 2008 (not sure how long they had the problem) built Spyder SM5 thats been sitting on the showroom floor all this time, you should have no worries about the brake fluid cap.
