• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Warning!! Do not use the Insulation Snoopy used to wrap Gas Tank

Mines a ST-S also.

I've ridden it for 4-5 months now with it. Up to 2hours and 95 deg weather and have had no issues. :dontknow:

I'll have to pop off a panel and see if there are any signs of it anywhere coming apart.

it is rated at 2000F but the adhesive backing is only rated 300 F. It was put on a 2013 ST-S and yes he has the exhaust wrapped.

"Adhesive Backed Heat Barrier is made up of woven silica with a flexible aluminized finish. The highly reflective surface of the material is capable of withstanding radiant temperatures up to 2000°F. The adhesive backed side handles direct and continuous temperatures up to 300ºF."

This is the one I used... http://www.thermotec.com/products/14600-suppressor-acoustical-heat-control-mat.html

yes, we got most of it off but there were some places we could not reach. It will have to burn off. Hopefully nothing will burst into flames
I notice in your profile you have a 2012 RS SE5 Spyder White.

I have a 2012 RT-S SM5.

Is there something about model year 2012 that suggests the fuel tank should be wrapped?

I see a lot of that mentioned for 2013, but not 2012's.

folks will often wrap the exhaust, and insulate the tank for personal comfort issues, that don't reach the level of functionality issues...
But there's always the potential of boiling fuel to arouse suspicions! :yikes:

Yep that is what I thought you used. It is not really for continuous exposure to sit above an engine. It is more for sound deadening on the interior sides of the engine bay or passenger compartment. The " and direct temperatures up to 300 Deg F" is a dead give away direct or indirect the temp softened it and it dropped off the tank. DEI has no such insulation and is like aluminum foil. Sorry to see the mess hope it all turns out well.:opps:

Yes I have a 2012 RS but my friend has a 2013 ST-s. The problem with the Cool-It product is on the ST

Since the insulation, I think 1500-2000 miles?
You ride even LESS than I do!
