What is a great choice to replace the stock rear shock? 70% riding solo, 30% with my wife. Looking for a great ride solo and be able to adjust for riding double? What’s out there and who has what that works. Thanks Deano

No just the stock shock for now.

All F3T have an adjustable rear air shock. The fill port is under your passenger seat. Try about 40lbs pressure to start for one up riding.

Its amazing how many of these are delivered with no air in the shock and no instruction from the dealer to fill it.

:agree: I had to check mine when it was delivered. I guess I was used to it because my previous bike was a 2014 RT (base model), and it was the same way. After setting the correct pressure, all was good:thumbup:.

Sorry everyone, but I was having a brain fart earlier when I said I had a f3 T , what I meant to say is that I have a F3 S. So with that said still looking for a better rear shock that is adjustable. 70% solo riding and 30% double . Any help? Deano

We ride solo. Both F3-S machines have the Fox Podium 2.0 adjustable rear shock. Adjustable spring preload and adjustable compression and 2 rebound damping rates. With rider, gear, saddlebags, etc, probably 200 to 220#. I really like the ride and handling. I predict someone will jump on and condemn them, pronouncing Elka to be the best. We have about 40K troublefree miles on them.

F3S is a horse of a different color.

Yes, I fitted the Elka Stage 2 front and rear shocks and have been very pleased with the upgrade over the Fox front shocks and Sachs rear with the too soft single stage spring.

Thanks again gentlemen for the help with rear shock issue.:D

Here is website for rear Fox 2.0 Podium with adj for Hi speed compression, Low speed compression, rebound, & of course spring preload adjustment.
Excellent rear shock for 2015-2017 F3 Spyder being able to adjust dampening to suit your ryding style.
I ordered & installed a Eibach 8" long x 2 1/2" ID 525# single spring as stock spring was too soft for me, depends on your weight.

I also had a Elka Stage 2 rear shock that I installed a Eibach 8" long x 2.25" ID 650# spring, ran for about 25,000 miles, I weigh about 175# plus Givi side bags & Givi topcase.

(note: the Elka rear shock in photo lower mount is for a 2016-2017 F3T or Ltd).
Enjoy.

Thanks for the info. I will check in the morning. Also has anyone put an aftermarket shock on from (Elka)?

I put an Elka Stage 2 on the rear & a Stage 4 on the fronts. They work great. I have a 2015 F3's SE6. Talk to the Elka rep--he will ask your weight, type of riding, % of time with a passenger & their weight & ELKA will set up the Spring load & rebound accordingly. I have made minor rebound adjust on the rear--no problems.

Talked with Elka rep

I have the same request for mostly solo but want to be comfortable when riding two up.
Here is what Elka said would work best for my situation.
Stage two up front allows for some adjustment. I went with touring set up even though I ride kind of hard. The thinking is out of the box they will have it set for my request and it's not likely I'll need to adjust much.
Stage four for the rear gives you a remote preload to quickly change for two up riding.

This shock combination transformed my comfort and CONTROL. Not a single hit has gone up my spine from the rear and the bike stays planted through uneven terrain. And the ride is really plush.
I heard Pit Bull is doing free installation at Spyder Fest? No big deal installing in my garage.
