• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Want to turn Reflectors into Lights-where to buy?

I would like to take the reflectors off my RT and turn them into working lights. I was curious who you guys suggest getting them from as I see a few different vendors offer this setup. Didnt know if one was better than the other or more easy to install. Appreciate your input.

Got mine from Custom Dynamics. (site vendor) All are pretty much the same on installation. And the lights do look WAY better than the reflectors.

try tricled.com

Although I would always encourage using sponsor vendors I found a site on e bay called closer to wholesale that sells truck and trailer led lites and most are $3 to 8 each they had so oval ones that were just the right size to replace the reflectors I wired mine to the turn signals I also put some behind the vent screens on the side panels some blink some are markers this helped 100% from the side , I also put some on the front shock body's front and rear it all works as good as the fender tips at about 1/8 the price since i had 2 spyders to set up and I wanted lots more visibility this worked out very well for me

Be careful... Sometimes you get what you pay for... :yikes:
Our site sponsors all have proven track records of support for us and our bikes.

These are the same lites used on heavy truck trailer marker lites who put 100,000 s miles beating down the road with very stiff suspensions mine have been on for 2 years now sealed led lites with 2 wires it's not rocket science

Reflectors

All my lights came from Custom Dynamics' the channel light have more light in them then the ones from tric light. I have the wiring harness so the front reflectors blink with turn signals. Alot more visibility from behind when changing lanes on the highway in daylight hours.IMG_0722.jpgIMG_0738.jpgIMG_0741.jpg

I'm glad that you like them... :agree: Pitch some pics in here for us!

I have used TricLed and Custom Dynamics for all of my lights... I have to be very honest. I have had a great experience with both. Any problems both have responded immediately. The work was not that hard either. Time consuming but not hard to install. Trying not to be biased I am probably going to be using TricLed in the future. They are local to me and have been dealing direct with Reggy. Went over to his shop and he gave me some hand grips free of charge. Installed them and everything. Not saying that Im getting everything else free but it shows the type of person he is. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. Just my 2 cents.. I put a couple pics up in the images section... I probably over did it a little lol...:doorag:

Custom Dynanmics

The CD Co you will not be disappointed. The quality is a standard in my book. When you get done providing you get the Fender Tips light kit will turn the front and rear light into turn signals that flash opposite those on the Spyder.

My spouse hassle me signal for a turn at a great distance, over 300 feet and further, and commented that it was one of our smarter ideas. While just going down the road you have two bright lamps with over seven LEDs bu ring brightly.

the only negative thing I can think of is at night. They are so bright that I find myself wishing they had a little lip around the upper part to shade or deflect the light splashing over.

One quick answer is to replace the reflectors with BrightSides from Custom Dynamics/ESI...also site sponsers. Another approach has been to use Street Magic micro LEDs under the reflectors, ala Lawrenc454. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?17516-New-RT-Lighting-Projects-Completed A low dollar approach has been to drill a hole in the reflector and add an insert light in the center, ala Inspector Gadget. Of course anything Reggie at TricLED sells is an excellent product. Just trying to keep your options open.
