• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Want to increase Gas Tank capacity/Mileage Range - any suggestions?

Contact a member Mr Orange. He has a setup that can easily do 200 miles. Only downfall is, you will lose your front trunk. I'm sure it ain't cheap either.

:agree: Besides; what's wrong with a quick stop every couple of hours to shake some blood back down into your legs? :dontknow:

I have an '08 GS and I regularly get 200 Miles between fill-ups with it....... :yikes:.... :2excited:...... Mike

We have a 2012 RS and get up to 186 miles on the open road. How about a camel pack with a drip feed to the tank... :roflblack: :roflblack:

Converting to methane would certainly extend riding distance for some people I've ridden with! :yikes:

I have a 2003 Toyota 4Runner with a 4.7 V8, full time 4WD and a lift. It holds 23 gallons of premium and I get about 275 miles to a tank. By comparasion the Spyder is easy on the mpg!

I got exactly 200 miles (320km) once on my '08 GS then promptly ran out of gas in the middle of a lifting bridge over the St Lawrence Seaway.

Most embarassing :opps: . Luckily no attempt was made to raise the bridge while I was stopped on it.

I was trying to find how far I could go on a tank & had a spare 1 gallon of gas in my Givi topbox. I just didn't expect to stop on a lifting bridge.

I went 190 miles on my 08 Gs, And ran dry, But i was carrying an extra gal and a half in the trunk.
Most will if the standard tank held 7 gal wish for a 8 gal tank;

When i had a 14 inch chain saw i would try to cut 15 inch trees, Than i got a 16 inch saw and tried to cut
17 inch trees, Then i got a 18 inch saw, You guess it, And i look to cut 19 inch trees.
So Now i just tip them over with the tractor.:roflblack:

For average purposes, I pretty much go 150 miles maximum, and fill it up. If I know there is no gas at that point, I fill up prior to the 150 where I find it.

These days, I have to get off and stretch at approx the 50 to 75 mile mark anyway--so not a problem for me.

I leave my schedule flexible most times, so I can ride and enjoy.

When I run in the mountains with my RS-S for about 180 miles it takes about 5 gallons of gas and that with two up.

No other better way to ride is to ride safe, full of gas, and just enjoy the ride itself.

That's not bad. I usually get about 230 miles in the city, and a little more that 300 on the highway with the cruise control on. I can stretch it out more with some real conservative driving or the speed limit, which doesn't happen too often.

Mr. Poogs, do you realise you are claiming your Highway MPG is 50+?? I would notify BRP immediately because I'm sure they will buy your Spyder for a lot of money to find out WHY?? :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: .... Mike[

There is an answer-

_MG_3967-L.jpg

Internal fuel pump controlled through a programmed timer relay, cell is baffled and is custom molded to slip right into an RT! It is sold as a kit and comes with everything you need to install it.

My best range so far was 325 miles mainly around town and backroads. Out on the highway I normally fill up between 225 and 250 miles.

I would like more info. E-Mail?

I would really like 200 miles between gassing up. New "pulley set", over size tank, etc. Any suggestions?

I have done 600K+ miles on 2 wheels. This did not come about by stopping every couple of hours. Better MPG? Sure, that would be nice, but it is the tank range! When riding in MT, SD, WY, etc. you have to stop even more often to assure having enough gas. One poster replied with, it's not going to happen. At 77 y.o. I have found we can usually make things happen when we have enough desire.
