There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Need some help , please
What kind the oil is the best ,full synthetic or synthetic blend ? and how much Oil on my RT L 2015?
Thank you so much

If you are doing a 2015 RTL with the 1330 engine, you are good to 3000 miles. You will find many opinions about what oil to use. Some use the BRP oil. I and others use Amsoil 10w-40. Still others use Mobil and Shell Rotella synthetics. When you do your oil change, do yourself a favor and get after market oil plugs that have hex heads and stronger magnets. Also, the two plastic panels under the engine can be taken off and placed in the trash.

I agree with kngfsh. Don't waste your $$ on a 600 mile oil change. Here are my suggestions:

At the risk of getting flamed as a condescending a**hole, I suggest you read pages 123 l and following of your operator's manua to learn all about how to change your Spyder's oil. Read completely the paragraphs on recommended engine oil and use whatever brand you like as long as it meets the API service specifications in the manual.

You will need a Torx T45 bit for the engine drain plug and a 6mm Allen bit for the transmission, a.k.a. clutch cover, plug. You will need a 36 mm socket to remove the oil filter cover. A 3/8" drive torque wrench will ensure you can properly tighten the plugs and filter caps. The torque specs for the plugs are in the manual as well as the initial fill oil quantity (5qt). The torque spec for the oil filter cover is 18 lbft, +/- 2 lbft.

Next I suggest you go to this link and watch Shawn Smoack's video on changing the oil an a 2015 RT.

You can find hex head oil plugs at the two links below. Good luck!

OIL CHANGES

If you are going to do this all the time .....I suggest getting the GOLD PLUG for the T-45 torx ( it's less money than Dimple and has a strong magnet )......the other is 6mm Allen and is easy to work with.......BEFORE you try to loosen either plug....put in the proper socket and tap it mildly hard with a Hammer to break the varnish seal on the threads.....it will make re-moval 5 x's easier............Also the BEST and least expensive Full Syn oil is at Walmart ( :roflblack: ) YEP, Valvo-line 10-40 FOUR-Stroke for MTC's it has the second lowest amount of Moly ( only Amsoil is less ) and if you can get the six-pack on sale about $35.00...........................Mike

3,000 miles: :agree:
And don't forget to let us know how it goes!

Oil? I prefer Canola: it makes my Sweet Potato fries taste better! :D

Have to agree...

Wait for the 3,000 miles...I like the Dimple plugs myself they have flat magnets that do not stick up into the engine. I will not recommend oils but i use BRP synthetic blend because of the places I ryde. I would add that the next oil change after 3,000 miles is at 12,300 and way to long in my opinion...

An engine is an engine...early first oil changes are a good thing IMHO.
There is a lot more assembly debris and wear in debris than most people would ever believe......in all new motors.
