• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Want Sound on your Spyder? Heres how!

thanks for the reply...so you don't use the speakers when riding? I use speakers in my helment but though this would be a better solution

Great job Clark! You say the two speakers near the handlebars weren't powered. Do they need to be powered? I mean can they be standalone without an amp and how about volume control, is that a separate control or do you use the zume?

Thanks for all the info. I do not want all that bass. Just something to listen to when riding do you think just getting the dwg speaker kit which includes the amp would be enough to hear when you are riding with a helment? Also can you show a close up of how you attached the speakers.

thanks again
What happened to an IPOD? Would this not be simpler and quieter for the rest of the public?

CZ,
If you hook the speakers to one DWG you will halve the power output and change the impedance. The speakers will work, but the amp may blow after a period of time.

Now when you are riding, you will not experience the same overall listening experience as earplug headsets,

As to the other thread asking about Ipod.
Will an Ipod work?... Sure, but its not nearly as much fun! This thread is primarily for those wanting to do some personalization. The whole concept of Spyder is about innovation.....No slam on anyone wanting to just use an Ipod, just showing another way

Very cool,
what codec is being used for the media player? I only here sound, no video. Can you make the video downloadable instead of streaming only?

Hi Spyder Lovers,
I've been receiving allot of inquiries on how I put premium sound on my Spyder. I made a video and placed it on my streaming server. Its about 8 min long and if you dont have broadband and Windows media player, you will need them to view. Heres the link. copy and paste to your browser, and it will auto open your media player. Enjoy.

We can also take 1/3 of the space of the Corbin bags with the speakers facing inside. Something like this:

I have that stuff now..but it is a main to hook up the helment and everything else
I keep my Ipod in the trunk. I have a wireless remote(Ijet) for volume and sound that is mounted on the dash . Ran a connector wire from the trunk to the dash and mounted it, just plug in the earpiece, works great and is the simple way.
