• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

waiting to ride my Spyder

Hi all", I have not ridden my Spyder for nearly 3 weeks due to my medical condition. I went to hospital and ended up having to have a bowel resection due to diverticilitis they took out 40 cm of my bowel and rejoined it. I got a scar from just above my lower groin up to jusy below my rib cage. I started the Spyder up a few days ago. I was told that I can not drive a car for 6 weeks so I got to stick with what Doctor says otherwise if I drive and have an accident I will not be covered by my insurance company. I am home and walking around doing very light lifting things. Just checking in

Regards Peter

Hope you heal soon and well .....Mike

I'm always very careful NOT to ask the Doc's how long before I can drive/ride again - if I do, they'll give me a specific & purely arbitrary time :banghead: But if I don't ask, then I can simply start doing things again when I feel up to it.... which is sometimes sooner than others might think is OK, sometimes later.... And if I ever have an accident (haven't yet tho, touch wood! ;) ) I can truthfully say that no-one told me not to! :ohyea:

Orright, I will admit, it's usually sooner.... :p But in my defence, I do tend to work hard at the rehab & generally heal/recover better & far quicker'n most.... Besides, even the Doc's usually agree that I was well & truly up to it when they eventually find out what I've been up to after the fact.... altho I hafta say that when I mentioned the parachuting, he did suddenly go a juuust a lottle pale?!? :dontknow:  :roflblack:

That aside, Peter, glad to hear you're back on your feet, & here's hoping the healing/recovery process goes well! Sorry 'bout the ryding hiatus, but no matter how much they seem to drag on, those 6 weeks really won't be all that long in the overall scheme of things before you're able to get back out there & ryding again! :ohyea: And don't forget that checking in on the Forum frequently is a great way to vicariously feed your ryding habit/get a fix until you can fully satiate those cravings in real life!

Stay healthy, heal quickly, and you'll get your knees back in the breeze sooner than you can..... errr, I dunno, eat an ephalump maybe?! :dontknow:

Hi Pete", well I went for a drive in car yesterday to the shops and it was OK. I see doctor today and I am nearly ready to ride the Spyder
