VSS light glowing solid

Hello,
Tapping the great knowledge on this site again!
In short, my VSS light is glowing solid, not flashing.
Little background first.
My compressor is going out making horrible sounds. Almost unrideable because of the embarrassing hideous noise it makes. Good news is, that it is under warranty, and part is on order though it sure is taking a long time to get here.
Other issue, I replaced my Corbin seat (sorry Corbin) with a RT Limited seat. I disconnected the passenger sensor but the Limited doesn't seem to have a connection? Is it an issue having the sensor unplugged?
Could either of those issues cause the VSS light to glow and is that a problem?
Thanks

The pillion seat switch must be plugged in. You answered your own question. I believe the switch has to be removed from the corbin seat and installed in the RT seat.

When....

:agree: When did the VSS come on....? for sure the seat sensor has to be connected but the compressor can also cause the problem. You will have to have them both taken care of.

I'm not sure when it came on but believe it was when I switched seats and unplugged the sensor. This new seat has a hole in the bottom, and in it is what looks like a paddle? There is no connector to plug in to the harness from the bike. I'm guessing there is some kind of connector that needs to be attached to the paddle and then the harness on the bike? Ant ideas how to do that?

RT Limited seat question

A buddy generously gave me a RT Limited Seat to replace my Corbin. Very comfortable by the way!
I have two questions.

First, it is missing the 'pin' towards the front of the seat, that locks the seat in place when it is in the closed position. Anybody know what it is really called so I can try to order the replacement part?

Second, there is no connection from the seat to plug into the passenger sensor. There is a hole underneath the seat with what looks like a paddle? I assume there is something that connects to that and in turn connects to the harness from the bike? Anybody know the name of that part or have any info on that?
Thanks in advance!

Hey there. What Billy told you is correct. The Corbin seat didn’t come with that sensor from Corbin. It was taken from the original RT seat and placed into the Corbin. That sensor is your original sensor. You need to remove it from the Corbin and place it into the new RT seat and plug it back in. Just those two screws. The paddle operates the sensor when someone sits on the seat. The Corbin doesn’t have the paddle, if I recall, but it functions the same way.

By the way, multiple postings about the same problem or question just gets too confusing all around.

Regarding your first question, you need 1 Lug, PN 705002223, $17.99; 2 Hex Jam Nuts, PN 232180600, $.52ea; 1 Flat Washer, PN 234082410, $1.07; and 1 Elastic Nut Housing, PN 269501943, $5.12.

Regarding your second question there is some kind of wiring assembly that connects to the seat and to a three wire female plug that I think is part of the brake bias system when you carry a passenger but where one finds it in all the wiring diagrams I am not yet certain because it does not appear where one would expect it to be, namely with the seat. Will take some digging to find it. What is now on the Corbin?

Thanks so much for the info. I apologize for the multiple posts. I won't do it again....Just wasn't sure where to post it. Again, thank you!
Just to close this out, I did steal back the sensor from the Corbin and installed it on the Limited and no more VSS light.
You guys are the best!
