• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Here are my windshield shaking and a lot of people had same problem.

I have no more warranty BRP change mine one time last year for my RTS 2010.

705 004 494 old part
705 004 774 new part

My question how long will it last before it broke or it's normal use ? When you see this in front of you it's scary how much the bracket could take ?

had to replace mine on 2010 rts, brp replace it under goodwill. If brakes again going to machine shop and see if they will make one out of stainless steel be cheaper than buying whole modual for about $400.00 to$500.00 dollars

wow. I saw your speed - 30 mph and you were getting that shake!

Not in miles but in km.

So 30 km/h = 18 mph

It's brand new from last year just storing for winter and this summer i have around 1200 miles with the new part and it still shaking. I remove some tupperware , to see where the problem find nothing. But with the shield all the the way up does not move like when is down like in the video.

I always ride with my shield up from the bottom by 1 or 2 inches, or down from the top by the same amount.

That's bad in my opinion. In no position up or down does mine shack anywhere near that amount.
Some is wrong or loose.

Let me start off by saying "nice roads" you have there in Canada :sour: I hope most of your roads aren't like that, because I find the Spyder to be a vehicle that really likes smooth roads (maybe I'm just too used to the travel of a good suspension on a motorcycle).

As for your issue; it looks like the windshield is shaking independently of the dash. If I were you, I would take off the windshield and part of the dash to exposed the motorized bracket under the dash to see if something is loose (which is what I really think is the issue). I wouldn't continue to drive it with that condition, because it could be causing further damage.

Keep us up to date with what you find.

Aren't there some replacement pivot-point bushings available? :dontknow:
I agree with Dan; Don't bottom it out, or top it out...

Now not only can we not "overfill" our gas tanks, we can't lower or raise the windshield all the way. What's next? Don't turn all the way left or right or you will damage the suspension? Lower the volume on the radio so you don't damage your hearing? Really?

It will rain here for weekend so i will look further about the mechanism. When i move it by hand left/right it feel solid.

I notice that your shield has the extra vents. I wonder if they don't have something to do with equalizing the pressures that cause the excessive shaking in a lot of the stock shields.:dontknow:

My wife's shook after we had it all apart to get some pieces powdercoated. When I reassembled everything I didn't tighten the bracket bolts under the plastic enough. Once I tightened them more, it quit shaking aside from the typical that would be expected.

I would reccomend going in and tightening those 2 pivot bolts for the left and right support arms and that should help. The center arm should be pretty solid and not move or wiggle at all unless the windshield motor is in operation.

TOP TEN DON'TS:
1. Do not drive with eyes open. You could get bugs in them.
2. Do not drive with mouth open. You WILL swallow bugs.
3. Do not drive with hands on the handle bars. They will get sunburned.
4. Do not drive during the rain. The roads are slippery.
5. Do not drive while texting. You should know this already.
6. Do not drive while hungry. You could pass out from low blood sugar.
7. Do not drive with chocolate bars in the glove compartment. They will melt and then the Spyder will get ants.
8. Do not drive as fast as possible in reverse. (duh.)
9. Do not drive with the radio on. It causes fits of dancing to break out and on the freeway this is REAL dangerous.
10. Do not drive while posting on Spyderlovers. (see number 5 for further)
11. Do not drive with the windows open.
12. Do not pay ANY attention to Dan Ashley--he is a complete nut!

All that shake is caused by the road you are driving on you chose to hit every patched pot hole instead of the smooth section in the middle, seriously? Any Spyder windshield with do that on a road like that of for that matter any motorcycle that rides over those pot hole patches will do the same. Try straddling the rough spots it won't vibrate.
