• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My wife gave me a GoPro camera AND the RC Spyder for Christmas. She knew I wanted an action video camera for the byke but not the RC. A friend at work told her he saw a couple at the local Wallyworld.

My question is: where's the best place to put the camera and the RC on the RT?

Just kidding...just the camera.

Hey! I got one also. I'm going to put mine on my helmet and see how that goes for now. Can't wait to try it out.... once all this snow melts.

I put mine on the top of my helmet, be aware that you have to angle it back a little to get the proper video of the road, about 5 - 10 degrees. Also with the suction cup you can put it on the windshield if ya want.

Hope your wife got you the new HD one because it is a HUGE improvement over the older one. Get AT least a 4 gb card for it.

I just did the winter riding video today I am putting up with mine.

Where to put the GoPro

I use the chest harness that GoPro sells as an accessory. It's taken some learning, but on the RT, one has to make sure the harness is snug and pull the cam up so it's sitting as close to your collar bone as possible. This is given that I'm 5'8" If you're taller, you can bring it bring it down an inch for every inch you're taller than I.

The perspective while riding is cool ... It's as though one is driving the bike. The image captures the instruments and your arms/hands on the steering, with the cam looking out over the instruments, through the windscreen to the road ahead.

Please refer to my video page on this forum (SilverSurfer), or on YouTube under SilverSurfer410. If you look at the Fall Foilage Ryde vids, the position is perfect. The Catocktin - Gettysburg vids are okay, but the cam is a little low as I was still learning.

I steered away from the suction cup because the wind buffeting on the windscreen was prone to make the cam shake. Havent gone for the helmet mount (just don't like stuff sticking off my helmet ... my Chatterbox is ungamely enough).

Best of luck

Paul

where did your wife find the RC Spyder? I think I would enjoy one very much :2excited:. I have a 2008 yellow on black. Thank you in advance for anything you can tell me.

I have the gopro hd and the helmet mount. I feel the helmet is best as you can move your head and get different views. IMO any other place is more of a static mount. You have more movement with your head than any other place.

I also have the wrist mount fo hiking/snorkeling.

I got one also. I read something that said something about a car adapter, and a home AC adapter for this. Anyone know about this?

The RC Spyders are at Walmart. Toys 'R Us also handles them, fo much more money. They also appear in the 2011 BRP Spyder accessories catalog. As a result the RC should also be able to be ordered through your Spyder dealer.
