• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vibrations:

I have a new 2012 RT and just about love it. However, boy does this thing vibrate:(. I now have 1500 miles on the bike and been back to my dealer twice already to have the belt tightened, each time it helps but does not cure the problem. I have also ordered a "smoothspyder" idler system hoping this may help as well. Is this to expected from the RT or do I have something else I should be looking at.

Perhaps you are running it at too low of an rpm? Anything below 3500 is too low. This thing is happiest between 5000 and 6500. Vibrations tend to disappear completely around there for me.

Arr may have put you on the right track!

I just had mine back to the dealer to deal with some vibrations issues... :gaah: Tightened and re-aligned the belt and all is good again!

No, the faster I go the more this thing shakes. Each time I have brought it in they say " oh the belt is lose again" and when I leave it is much better, just not smooth. I have had it shake so bad I could not see what behind me in my mirrors. They have also checked the tires and stated they are balanced.

Perhaps the tires need to be balanced or the wheels aligned? An un balanced rear tire could theoretically shake the belt out of position.

The belts are set up some what tight from the factory and will stretch some during break-in, after heating up and cooling down and take a set, but once adjusted should retain that tension without constantly needing to be adjusted.

motor mounts

On some of the 2010 models there were some issues with motor mounts rubbing and causing vibes. Do a search on it you should find plenty:thumbup:

Our 2012 Limited seems to have a vibration as well. It feels like something is bumping or rubbing as it does not do it all the time. Our first service is coming up shortly so they may find it then.

Something is not right there.............the one thing I noticed right away was how usable the mirrors actually are with no vibration what so ever?

Back to the dealer as they are missing something.

Phj- I have a 2010 and HAD vibration. Smoother took care of it.
