• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vibration?

Understood Mike. I didn't consider the twist test a REAL indicator of tension, just a guideline.
As you ride, the pulleys and the belt heat up and the belt shrinks. Well not really, it the pulleys that expand and tighten the belt.
I'm happy to be your "friend."

On the "pulleys expand " thing …… after you take a long ride, touch your rear pulley - please let me know what you find out ….. a PM will do …. Mike :ohyea:

I had pretty good belt vibration after the local dealer adjusted my belt too tight. The vibration got noticeably worse after I rode for a while and everything warmed up. So, for whatever reason, there is a difference in belt tension between pre-ride and post-ride conditions. I went through what you are going through and learned how to properly adjust belt tension and alignment. The first few times doing alignment and tension will test your patience. But it gets easier with experience and understanding of how the process comes together. The help from those on this forum has been invaluable to me. Sounds like you are well on your way to solving your issue. Good luck..... Jim

Ok, Sway bar installed, BIG diffrence, got rid of my the body role. Looked at front rims, fount one rim had 6 weights and the other had 7. Found the yellow alignment dot was nowhere near valve stem. Tire shop aligned dot with stem. One rim now has 3 weights and the other has 10?? Wanted belt checked, mechanic has aKrikiton order, didn’t trust the other tension guage he had. Tire pressure was checked before starting everything. Had new stems put in, they are rubber, and a bit longer then what was installed. I installed the FOBOs when I got home. Found tire pressure pressure at 35 pounds! Know wonder spyder was a bit twitchy. Lowered pressure to 17 front and back tire is 27! Vibration is about half of what it. Was. Now need a laser alignment!

Just had a new belt installed 2014 RTS to BRP specs always had vibration before now 0-80 no vibration

It’s been proven there is no science too your method of checking the belt tension it’s your bike you can do whatever you want😉

Centramatic wheel balancers make a big difference you don’t have to worry about your wheels going out of balance again that is if you have 15 inch wheels

Ok where is this service tip to be found the thoughts on belt seem to be all over the map I have had a belt vibration ever since new just got e new belt installed at a BRP dealership set at mid range specs 1000 Newton’s off the ground I believe it’s about 230lbs vibration is gone so some are saying if Belt is too tight you get a vibration so at this point I really don’t care what the tension is the bike is running smooth everyone else can set their tension whatever their heart desires 😉
