vibration at 6000 rpm

I have a 14 STL with 2300 miles. Between 6000 and 6500 rpm, I get a moderate vibration that I never have before. I'm riding in rural areas of Montana, Wyoming and Idaho and will riding back to California. Has anyone experienced this?

Could it be your belt, we all have this, solved with more tension and or belt tensioner.

Hard to say...

How is the air pressure in the tires..? When was the last time the belt was checked..? Where do you feel the vibrations..? Could be harmonics /engine mounts (not to likely) alignment. :dontknow:

80 mph or so?? It's the belt setting up a harmonic vibration.

Yep, that's when it happens. I guess I'll put a belt tensioner on it when I get back home. Thanks to all who replied.

I get some "belt shake" with mine in the 77 to 79 mph range, and then it comes back at 84 mph... :dontknow:

Is this a cruising RPM, or upon acceleration? I don't feel any vibration with my '13 STS SE5 until above 90 MPH in 5th gear. I do frequently rev above 8,000 RPM with no vibration when
accelerating. I hope you find the source to fix the problem.
