• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vibration...again

I realize vibration is supposedly part of ryding a motorcycle but when should you be concerned? I again have vibration that is annoying around 4500 and 6000 rpm's. Had the rear tire changed about 1000 miles ago, could the belt be to loose? The 5000 mile issues was resolved to the point that it was better than tolerable but never completely eliminated.

Also, not every time, but, sometimes it seems that I have a wobble in the front end. Anyone else have that, at around 45 mph. Quite distracting.

I have the same thing if I am in 5 gear at that low speed.I try to stay above 5,000 RPM.
I have a 2011 RT Limited that will fill like it is wobble on some roads. I have the shocks set 4.
It was worst at setting 3 I need to set them to 5.

I also had a vibration with my RT Limited and it is almost completely gone after I installed a belt tension-er from CaptJim who is a sponsor on this web site and you will find him on the home page.

I have the same issues. I have 11k on the beast and I have the vibration back. I have had it since the first 600 mile checkup. It seems to go away for about 1500 miles after the checkups but always seems to come back. I am tired of thinking about it (as I am about the CB problems as well). While I would like to buy the tensioner (sp) I think (no offense intended) it is priced too high. I am not doubting the quality of the part, it just should not be something I need to buy for the Spyder.
The front seems to have a little wobble as stated, but not always. I thought it was probably due to tire wear. It could be alignment, but it tracks streight. I guess it is just the beast...

I have a vibration as well that I put down to the drive belt as it seem to only appear after recent warranty work. I installed a belt tensioner this weekend but I have to be honest, so far it makes no difference. I have the tension set to 14 lbs now so I have to check again.

I had the same - specially after they installed the 2011 shocks - had to balance both !! frontwheels and readjust the front bearings .. now its away ..

ENGINE VIBRATION POSSIBLE FIX

Vibration may be due to the engine craddle hitting the frame. This is an issue and we have fixed several units. The problem is the engine mounts settle to far and on the 2010 RT a notch must be cut out of the frame on the left side front motor mount area. On the 2011 RT this part of the frame was updated but the craddle will still settle and rest on the frame (some right out of the crate). With the 2011 RT the motor mounts must be shimmed about 4.5mm at all 6 studs in the front. See picture of frame below so you can have your dealer inspect for this issue.

Belt tensioner

I have the belt tensioner on from Capt Jim and I can run my RT in 5th gear down to 3500 rpms and not notice any vibration. I don't run at that low an rpm but can run at 4000 with no problem
