I am a new rider so my opinion might not be worth much...
We rode with my daughters group weekend before last. 2 were non-metric sport bikes. the rest were "crotch rockets". Taking it out of eco mode, I was able to keep up with all but the 1200 and 1400 Busa's. The sportys had me in the 100-200 yd range, but I hit 7000rpm in 3rd then 4th and started passing them. THEN I realized how fast I was going and slowed back down to near the speed-limit...
Being 150 or 200 lbs. lighter it is no doubt the RS would whop up on the 998 RT and I would say it will also beat the 1330 from 0 to 60 or in the 1/4 miles as well. I would not want a touring motor in a sport machine. I think the 998 runs very well even in my RT. Bob, you've had both, will the 998 hang in there with the 1330 in a strictly performance contest?
