• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Very Impressed with BRP

Questions

I've been waiting for parts for my RTS for 6 weeks now. Even though my bike is ridable I have been getting a mader the HELL about having to wait so long for the Air Suppenion Valve so I can get my Air Compressor back working. I called and raised HELL with my Dealer yesterday and I'll I got was that it was on back order. That still pissed me off so I called them back and got the owner. He was not aware that I have been waiting this long for the part so he made a call to BRP to see what was going on. And to my suprise I got A call just a few minutes ago from BRP appologizing for the delay in parts. They assured me that it was on back order but due to arrive to them on or about 7/7/2010, but he would try to locate one and have it overnighted to my dealer. They appoligized again and asked if I had any other issues with them or the bike. I was glad to see that they called to follow up with my problem. This makes me have a little more faith in them. I do love my RTS and belive I am going to buy a RS for my wife.

BRP response

My bike was out of service for 2 weeks while I waited for BRP to mail a rear shock. During that time I sent 2 e-mails to Carlo asking for help. I received a phone call today from a girl telling me that she would "make a note" of my complaint. I feel much better now that I know they have a note.

I got the same call. The woman I spoke with was Stephanie.:ani29:

Well that is interesting. I called BRP yesterday and they were closed for Canada Day, and were told they will resume normal hours on Monday.

Still waiting for BRP to contact my dealer to figure out why my Spyder wong shift out of gear.

Even more frustrating is that I had no problem w/ gears being stuck- that happened while the service dept had it.

Anyone else getting sick n tired of people hijacking threads? No offense musicarcadev, you're by a long shot not the first and won't be the last but signwizzard was just posting his take on his experience with BRP. Actually, it's good to hear something positive.

If people want to complain then make another thread...it should fit in nicely with the other 7.3 million similar threads with people complaining about BRP service.

Maybe Lamonster should create a new sub-forum just for people to complain?

I take it the 'hijacking' aspect was saying something less than positive in response to a positive post? Only kudos would be appropriate? How come I never see this complaint when someone is describing a problem with their Spyder and others jump in to say they are only having good experiences with the Spyder? That hijacking should also be banned, perhaps?

Must say though, I quite like your 'complaining thread' idea. I'd take it a step further and set up another forum that is just for people whose Spyder is out of action.

What to call that forum, though?

Apologies, I missed that you'd already suggested a sub-forum. Great idea - I'd suggest "Frustrated", although Copper may already have copyrighted that.

Sneaks in giggling like a four year old... Call the new sub-forum... "Room for Improvement"

As I mentioned, I traded the RT's for an FJR and a Spyder RS (so I'm staying in the family, at least). The FJR Forum has a subforum called "Technical/Mechanical Problems". This is in addition to its "Technical Discussion" forum. I really do think that pierrelogic is right in suggesting that it would be helpful to add a sub-forum like that where folks who are experiencing issues with the Spyder can post about and discuss their problems. For a start, it would mean that those posts can be easily found and reviewed, including by BRP, which presumably reviews this forum.

This kind of shows that not all issues are BRP's faults. Dealers are people too and sometimes things slip thru the cracks, but calling the owner was a great move. A lot of times they are unaware of what is going on in all parts of thier business. Heck, our dealer just went to a new computer-based program where it takes 3 people to enter items before they are ordered. Just one slip-up and the wait begins.
Glad to hear you got the ball rolling:2thumbs:

Believe me, I'd like to hear something positive too, Like "your Spyder is ready- We've figured out what was wrong, it's fixed and your good to go'
Your tired of Hijacking threads? I'm tired of my Spyder being hijacked by not being fixed.
I'd be out ryding instead of writing if I had the Spyder I paid good monmey for. I like reading threads here and if I feel like saying something I say itnojoke
If you don't like it don't read it.
I would MUCH rather be out enjoying my spyder than sitting here reading about others great rydes.

I do owe an apology i realize now as I do this edit- as this is the RT forum.
My apologies for writing about my RS issues in your forum group.
I'll try to be more attentive as to which forum I'm in when I check for the new posts.:opps:

I now return you to the RT/BRP wonderful thread.....

So your plan is to take it out on all the board members here? What have they done to you to deserve this? Crapping on every thread where someone is happy is not going to help your cause. I'll be glad to make some phone calls for you, I'm sure it would have a lot more effect than pitching a fit on the forum. nojoke

Send me your real name, dealers name and phone number and I'll see what I can do.

You remind me of a kid in HS. He used to run around and no matter what anyone had to say, he could top the story or worse yet say something that made no sense for nothing more than "shock value."

Everyone started to just ignored him and he became Mr. Irrelevant. Honestly, nice guy but very annoying.

The opposite to this hijacking of threads to complain would be for me to follow everyone around the forum and whenever someone complains I pipe up saying "gee, I dunno what to tell you...mine is just fine...sux to be you!" How fast would my posts become irrelevant and a waste of bandwidth?

Lamonster threw ya an olive leaf, but you still need to make the choice to take it....unless complaining is getting you the satisfaction you need. :yikes:

Pleased with BRP

I am on my 2nd Spyder. Went from an '08 RS to a 2010 RT, I was very impressed with BRP when dealing with DPS issues on my '08 and I am just curious that it seems most of the problems being discussed have been with the "RTS" and not the "RT". I know most folks bought the RTS for all the bells and whistles, but I was just curious if it is an issue with that model and not the RT. I hate to say anything and jinx my ride but I am loving every minute of it and have not experienced these issues.:2thumbs:

2 things...

One you completely missed the point...
Two, wishing bad juju on someone's else's ryde is just wrong. :chill:

If you'd like to take this off the forum and into PM where it belongs I'd be more than happy to have an adult conversation about hijacking threads. I'll listen if you will!:chat:

Ryde on barbwire!

We already have a couple of those......nojoke

:roflblack:

Dude, yours works great, that's wonderful for you. Some folks, however, have had some issues, AND have had a tough time getting them resolved.

If you had more than a couple of months of history here, you'd know that this is pretty common.....

So, while you're out having a hoot on yours, some folks are stuck with an inoperable machine that merely frustrates them.....They're entitled to their opinions as much as you are yours......I hope you get the same concern and understanding that you give others when your Spyder takes a dump on you........

I agree - I think it would be a good sub-forum to have. But I don't agree with getting slapped in the face for being frustrated - Musicarcade's been w/out a ride for quite a while - that would frustrate people I would think.

Well, I agree. I think it's hard for people who haven't been without their ride for a long time to sympathize with the frustration of those who have, and there's a certain amount of defensiveness going around too.
