We have decided that instead of paper wrist bands to identify registered attendees we are having Silcon bands made that say *OPERATION LIMA FOXTROT 2012* and our TVC-SRA.COM web site. They will be Red White and Blue. After the event we will have additional wrist bands for sale and the proceeds will also go to the foundation.

Sonja (my 2-up) lives in Leeds, not 5 miles from Barber, and I have never bothered to go over there. Lots of crotch rockets zooming out of that area on nice days though!

Call the Hampton Inn now and make your reservations. Tell them you are with the Spyder Ryder of America. Janice Smith and I negotiated a deal for up to 30 rooms for $85.00 per night.
You also need to go on our web site www.tvc-sra.com and open the registraion and sign up for the event. All of the details are on our site.

Motels for Venom in Vandiver

We have rooms blocked at a brand new Best Western, the Hampton Inn and several other motels in the area with great rates. We have sent people in to inspect the motels and they are all very nice.

Hampton Inn is actually looking forward to seeing the parking lot infested with Spyders. :clap:
Tristan has been very helpful about the reservations and trying to place people in their
rooms of preference. and handicap accessable rooms are part of the consideration in
this event. so make your res while there are still rooms available... where ever you
decide on staying.

with taxes... our room should total $99.45. so budget for $100.00 per night, and you should be pretty close.

Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum

Barber Motorsports Museum has extended our museum tickets that were supposed to be just for Saturday to Saturday and Sunday. They realize that the few hours we will have on Saturday at the end of the Poker Run is to short so now your arm band will get you back in the Museum on Sunday as well.

Barber ride

We do not have track time on Sunday at this time. We are having a planning meeting this Saturday with TVC-SRA, Barber, Big #1 and Operation Lima Foxtrot. At the meeting we will be discussing a lot of possibilities. If we get a really big crowd we will need alternate plans and that is being discussed at our meeting. I will update everyone after the meeting. Because of the schedule we are also talking about box lunches provided by Barber so people will not have to leave there and go look for something to eat.

There is a parking area where motor homes can be parked at Courtyard 25 but there is no electrical hook ups and no dump station. There is a large shower house and bath rooms. For this event the owners of Courtyard 25 have dropped their $10.00 per night tent camping charge. There is no charge for parking motorhomes or for tent camping. There are cabins available for rent but due to the number of people that we need at the site to handle the event the people working the event will be staying in the cabins. The tent camping area is really nice with elevated pads to pitch your tent on.

Venom in Vandiver t-shirts

In order to control the cost of putting on this event we are having T-shirts made to order rather than purchasing 500 or 1000 shirts. Part of the $30.00 registration package is an event T-shirt. We encourage anyone planning to attend to please register as early as possible so we can get the shirts ordered. The image below is the wrist band that will also be part of the package.

Barber Museum and Venom in Vandiver

We had a planning meeting Saturday with Barber. Due to the time frame they are making our arm bands good for Friday, Saturday and Sunday for everyone who registers for the event. After attendees pick up their registration package they can go to Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum any time during the three day event. The track time will still be only 12:00 to 1:00 on Saturday during the poker run. Please log on to our web site and register. The track time is in high demand and the track time is limited. We are looking at a maximum of 250 bikes getting time on the track Saturday. www.tvc-sra.com

Venom in Vandiverand Talladega

The weekend after our event is the annual 500 mile race at Talladega. The track is closed to infield visits for 2 weeks prior to the race. We will have a discount ticket for the NASCAR Museum / Talladega Hall of Fame but no track time this year. We have been in contact with the head of Talladega and next year we plan to schedule our event when the track will be available for Spyders to do laps on the Superspeedway.

I was asked to post this by some SRA members. Looks like it will be a nice event. It's Sept 28th to the 30th and they will be having rides to Barbers Motorcycle Museum, that would be worth going just for that. :thumbup:

One thing that we have forgotten to mention in this forum is you do not have to be a member of Spyder Ryder of America to attend this event. And if you have some of those friends that you ryde with who lost a wheel somewhere along the way we will not hold that against them and they can join the fun also.

We will be giving several awards away at our event. One of them will be for the person who Rydes the longest distance to get here. Ryde means on your spyder not on a trailer.
