• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vehicle Parking Needed Near Glacier Park, MT

Hi,
I am planning a trip next summer where I would trailer my Spyder to Montana and ride for a couple of weeks. I want to make a loop through Glacier Park and nearby parts of Canada, Idaho, and Washington.
Would anyone know of a place where I could park my pickup truck and trailer near Glacier National Park? Hopefully for free?

Thanks,

Not advising, but there's a good number of people (videos at least ) of parking lot “stealth”camping :dontknow:

I don't think you'll find a safe place to store your stuff for free. Sad but true. Vehicles parked for an extended time get noticed by bad guys who take advantage. I would contact the local sheriff's office in the area where you want to park and follow their advice.

BTW; There are several multi-day rides in that part of the country that will knock your socks off. Enjoy.......

Thanks for the reply. We would want something secure. We aren't going to just park in the middle of nowhere. We're thinking more along the lines of someone who lives in the area who would let us park on their private property.

I have found that most storage centers will accommodate you and are not expensive. We are doing that exact trip this summer. For example when we goto Sturgis we take the toy hauler out and stay in it while around the black hills. Then I drive up to sturgis and use a rental center that has a gate and code. It costs me $35 for 2 weeks. As long as its linked together and you rent a 50’ spot you’re good. We’ll leave the truck and toyhauler in sturgis and heading to Cody, then bear tooth, then up to glacier on the spyder. Been to glacier many times, wonderful place. Then back towards the bighorns and Sheridan and back. We have a storage center spot outside Bethany beach we do the same for $20 a week. There is a place outside Colorado Springs for $50 a month. Did that a couple years ago. Theres also a place outside Messa for $15 a week. Mesa is dirt cheap because of the all the used camper shops. We actually just talked to a camper dealer and he let us leave it there for $15 a week. All storage centers and gated. Then you don’t have to worry. Depending on how long you’re going to be its worth it in my eyes. Just type in your area and storage centers and call. Most are happy to work with summer week storage since that is their slow time of the year. Just my opinion.
