• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Valves tapping

I have a 2015 F3 with 800 miles on it and it seems to have very loud valve tapping in my opinion. The dealer "checked" and said it is normal and that the motors are notoriously noisy.. Does anyone know if this is normal? Are yours loud?

The 1330 triple engine while quieter than the 998, does sound a bit like a "diesel" engine when at idle.

I HATE it when dealers say that...
It's not a noisy engine; is there any way that you can post a video with some sound? :dontknow:

VALVE NOISE

I ALSO HAVE A 2015 F3-S THAT HAS 720 MILES ON IT. I DON'T EVEN LIKE RIDING IT WITH OUT A HELMET IT SO LOUD. YOUR NOT A LONE!

I have heard that the 1330 engine is like pebbles rolling around in a barrel and it does sort of sound like that.

Almost 4000 miles on our F3. I have not noticed any "tapping" that would be as consistently repetitive as a valve or lifter. Some engine noise, but it's really out in the open on the F3.

They do sound like a diesel at idle. Maybe the RT is a bit quieter due to the extra body panels?

Mine definitely has a distinctive "pebble" sound but from all the stuff I had read (even before buying it) and the fact that it's been the same for almost 3k miles now, I'd guess it's pretty normal.
