There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. valve stems

In looking at the rear tire I noticed that the valve stem is a 90* angle stem and that it faces towards the sprocket. Has anybody remounted them so they face the opposite way. Looked to me like it would have better access that way.

I have left mine alone...
They do flex quite a bit, so getting a gauge on them is pretty easy...
But there's a whole lot of folks in here, who'd LOVE to discuss this design with the moron who suggested it!

It's a straight stem. The mounting hole is drilled straight in as you see it making it appear to be 90 degrees.

I'm one of those blokes who'd like to be in Bob's discussion group but he's right about getting a gauge with a right angle chuck on it; no big deal. Unless you also have a pump/compressor with right angle chuck this is one of the easiest ways to add air,

Yeah, it's a Harley product but it is very good.

Now that is a nice piece of equipment and reasonably priced considering the source. Thanks

Exactly, when I saw Harley Davidson (HD = Hundred Dollars) I was sure it would be at least 40 or 50 bucks. I'll bet my local HD dealer doesn't have any in stock.

FWIW, if you haven't a compressor for emergency use the Harley one is very good and comes with the valve extension, cost about $43. Thank SpyderAnn.

90 * ANGLED MTC STEM

I put some metal ones from ...KURVEYGIRL.COM ( 2 @ $10 + 2.50 shipping ) on all three of my Spyders with their first rear tire change.......I put them on the opposite side of the rim by the Disc brake......There is much more room there........Be advised put the NEW HOLE at least 3 inches in from the RIM, and when they mount the tire they have to REVERSE the rim on the machine from the way they do it normaly..........Mike

So do I understand you correctly...... you drilled a new hole? What size bit did you use? Now that is thinking outside the box. I like that thanks.

I'm 68 and that was quite awhile ago.......I just stuck the threaded part of the stem into BIT HOLDER tray to see what was a close match and used that....I did also put some silicone on the threads ( for good measure ) ( but they do come come with rubber washers etc.) and a dab of blue lock-tite......And don't forget to point the stem out towards the brake disc.......none of the three ever leaked..........I just siliconed the OEM ones from the inside and left them there.....Mike ....................PS ,,,I would only do this when I was getting a new REAR TIRE.....because the tire has to be off the RIM to drill the hole.......I just brought my Battery drill and the other stuff with me took about 5 min. and a $ 5.00 TIP
