• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Using an iPhone with BRP-Go Navigation - Review

FYI I believe you can only use GPX files with "Google My Maps" (a web application) and the Google Maps native (android/IOS) app is NOT GPX compatible...

Actually, it appears there is a Google Map app specifically for Macs. I've downloaded the free version. If it serves my purpose, I might upgrade to the paid version.
I've been using the Google Maps app on my Mac for quite awhile.
I like that I can plot a route using start and stop points, add waypoints, and then drag and drop the route to the route I prefer. It even has an option to Avoid Highways.

And then I can send the route to my iPhone.

Yes, but it's a Web App not a local app which is a shame. However, it does a passable job for sure.

It's a shame the BRP Go app isn't as good as the Google Maps app or the Apple Maps app on the iPhone. I think BRP could have ported an existing native app to be the BRP Go option.

Of all the iOS apps that run on iOS or Android, one of them could have been the basis for BRP Go!

I hope they get with the program and revamp the BRP Go app over time as it's just not up to par in my opinion. We live in hope of course.
