• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Used RT prices???

Not snobbery at all, but just an observation and drawn conclusion.

If you have ever attended a Spyder event it's pretty evident who buys these things.

As we die off, leaving behind scores of decked out, chromed Spyders sitting in our heated garages maybe the kids will start to ride them.

I see lotsa Wings and HD with much more bling than Spyders seems to be a similar demographic on them. Same with my Corvette club.

I realized this morning that since they no longer make the RT A&C model our 2010 has become a collectors item and therefore extremely valuable.... just another reason to not trade down for the 2014 RT.:yes:

:gaah: I just KNEW that I should have kept my 2010 A&C... :gaah: :D

Per the blue book--the 2010 Premier Edition shows about a $500 bump in pricing. I don't think it was even considered here, even though its on paper. :( RE: A & C. Also have a 2011 and don't think it will become a collector's item either. The market is the market, is the market.

I think that the only bikes designated as "PE's"; were of the RT-S variety...
The rest of us, were S.O.L. :gaah:

I believe the 2008 GS had the first PE (premier edition). Remember how they made 4500 or so of the original 1500. Ask Randy.

Bob, how about a little truth in advertising. Wasn't yours an Audio & Convenience? :roflblack:

:opps: I'm just calling it the way that the dealer is advertising the bike... :D
Actually; it was, and remains, identical to an RTS.
Once the "Transformation" was complete...

While I'm not advocating using Craigslist, here are some prices for used RT's

2012 RT SM5 $17990
2010 RTS SM5 $20995
2011 RTS SM5 $18750
2012 RTS SE5 $24399

Are these prices typical? The 2010, for instance seems high to me. What with some dealers trying to sell 2013's for several thousand dollars off, what do you think? :chat:

Are you going to finally buy one?

(I'm thinking that he'd LIKE to... but the Missus isn't with the program just yet!)

That raises a really interesting question.
There is literally nothing different between a base RT and the RT-Limited except bolt-on gewgaws.
BRP sells everything that makes the Limited a Limited.

So what makes a Limited different from an RT that has been all tarted up?

Is it birth or environment?

Personally speaking. As an owner I would say environment.

However, a somewhat uninformed buyer who happened to recognize the badge difference could say different.

Both would have solid ground to stand on.

Settleing any differences there. It then becomes a matter of.....show me the money.

I believe that it's in the V.I.N.
It's 17 digits: the first digit (2); designates Canada as it's origin...
The last SIX digits are the sequentials that point to your particular vehicle...
That leaves 10 more "in the middle"
One of those is used to designate the year of construction
That leaves nine, to cover vehicle specifics...
model
transmission
Things like that...
Steve at BRPCare, could probably break out each digit, and tell you wht it stands for...
