Like most of the switches on either side, they are, as Mark says, tied into the cluster. As such, they are digital. On the system electrical diagram, there is a box in the upper right that says:" The following switches use the CAN System". The PTT is in that block.
Now-- IF you are good enough to read the CAN bus, decode the digital word for the PTT switch, drive a relay, etc..... then WOW!
On the other hand, I suppose you could take appart the left multifunction switch, disconnect the PTT from the CAN bus, use the contacts to drive a garage opener, or a horn, or a coffee pot. My choice.... my openers are in my glove box. Time spent- :30sec.
