• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

USB port on 2020+ RTL.........

Does anyone know the power output of the USB port in the glove box of the 2020+ RTL? The reason I'm asking is that I have mounted a GoPro camera and the max power input is 5V 1-2amp. Anything higher than that will fry the camera.
I would run it on it's battery power, but I don't want to keep changing batteries every 45 minutes.
Thanks for your input.

I believe if it's a USB port, then the power would have to be 5V. That would be part of what makes it a USB port.

The USB port can provide UP TO the maximum amperage of the design but your gopro will only draw the current it needs. I modified a USB cable to leech the 5v for my 5v XM radio with no issues.

A usb plug rated for more then 2 amps will not fry your camera. That is not how electricity works. What's important is the voltage, 5V. I assume the usb plug in your 2021 glove box is the BRP Connect plug. If so it is a maximum of 1 amp and may not be enough for your camera. Plug it in a find out.

Billy B, I only want the cord to keep the battery charged inside the camera while videoing (is that even a word?), not to run the camera itself. Thank you for your response.
