There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. UPGRADED SHOCK FOLLOW UP REPORT

If someone is going to switch from the RS shocks to the RT shocks is there a difference between the 2010 RT shocks and the 2011 RT shocks? I've noticed some people talking about the 2010 shocks and some people talking about the 2011 shocks. I'm definitely planning on upgrading my 2008 RS shocks but will not be able to afford any aftermarket models.

Thanks!!
Jeff

The 2011 RT shock/Spring package is stiffer than the 2010 RT set. By how much I am not sure but it is reported to be a noticeable difference.

Just a general seat of the pants idea... The 2011's are about 25% stiffer (stronger/what have you) than the 2010's are.

The reason I went with the 2010's and not the 2011's is simple. I wanted a soft ryde, but better control. I felt (Does not mean this would be the case) that the 2011's would be great for two up ryding, but to stiff or require adjustments every time I went one up...

I for one would not want 2011's, but another very well might! For weight concerns or for potentially even further adjust ability/fine tuning (meaning we set ours to #4 for two up and maybe with the 2011's you can set it to #3 and net very similar results) :2thumbs::dontknow:

My dealer just told me $425.00 per shock for the 2011 RT:spyder2: front..I think Im gonna have to live with stock.

I just installed 2011 RT shocks on my 2010 RT. I cannot find the receipt for the new shocks but the total cost for 2 shocks, 2 adjuster rings and 2 adjuster ring protectors was in the neighborhood of $225.00. If I find the receipt later I'll post the exact price. I installed them myself. It's a pretty simple job.

By the way, after a little trial and error adjusting of the front shock preload and the air pressure in the rear air bag, the RT corners much better with a lot less body roll.

I found the recept for mine. With a 10% discount which the dealer gives me, the bill for a set of 2011 shocks, adjuster rings and ring protectors was $201.00 plus tax. IMO worth the cost. Now if I win the lottery, I'm gonna get a set of Elkas or Works Performance shocks.

Our local dealer quoted me $474 for the 2011's, fully assembled. My Works Shocks cost me an additional $200, offer 5 way adjustability, remote reservoir, and quality materials. The WS are machined, have no stamped parts, and look like what should have been on the RT to begin with.

AND they work reeeealy reeeealy well:yes:

Ok you got my attention, where do I find them?:dontknow:

Cool...thanks for the info guys! Sounds like I'd probably be better off with the 2010 RT shocks as I almost always ride one up. I did check the price of the part numbers that reggystan listed for the 2011 shocks and the dealer in PA that I now use (since the dealer in Frederick, MD closed) has them for 135.46 each (plus tax) and a online dealer that I've used before in Alabama has them for 157.24 each (plus shipping). That is for all six of the parts listed per side. I'll have to go back and check the prices for the 2010 RT shocks.

Do most people end up changing the rear shock also? Or is it mainly the front ones for cornering? I noticed some serious improvement with the Evoluzione anti-swaybar, but always felt that the stock shocks were a little lacking, even after adjusting the spring preload.

Thanks!
Jeff
