• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Update - Spewing gas

First off.......BRP rocks!
They immediately contacted myself, unfornately I missed the call :banghead: , then they called my dealer to get the ball rolling on my bike. My dealer couldn't see my bike until 31st of August, and referred me to the other dealer in town. I called him and he got me in that day!! WOW! They had the bike for 2 days and he called me today to come pick her up.
The issue was a pinched vent hose! Pinched in half, not venting at all. Seriously? That's it?
The shop manager was amazing to deal with, super helpful and friendly. He said they replaced the kinked hose and drove it up to altitude, removed the gas cap no problem, brought it back down to lower altitude, removed the gas cap with no issue. They replaced a few other things, I would tell you what, but I walked off and left my paperwork on the service counter.:opps: I'll go get it Tuesday when they are open again. The service manager also said he was going to contact BRP about my bike on Tuesday and would personally request those panel to help cool her down.:clap:
Huge kudos to Dave the Service Manager at RPM Motorsports Lakewood Colorado!!

So I smell no gas when driving! This is HUGE! I was getting raw gas fumes while flying down the highway at 65-75mph. Greatful to just smell the great outdoors instead :D.
I pulled her immediately into the garage when I got home from a nice long ride after picking her up, I smell a slight gas smell, but nothing like it was before, no where close.
I'm a super happy camper to say the least.

I just curious as to why the original dealer couldn't find this problem? As strong as the smell was, they had to smell it.......unless you are just hard of smelling.

I'm super excited to be back in the saddle again! It was depressing to take trash out to the garage and see the empty spot where my baby is supposed to be. :sour:

Hooray!!

Fantastic to hear a positive report! Simple fix and likely saved you from being a human torch, and best of all you found a great dealer/service point and that BRP did respond. Happy riding!!!:yes::yes:

:2thumbs: Glad it was resolved & :dontknow:I didn't even consider altitude in the equation
(not a problem down here in the plains:roflblack:). Enjoy the rest of the season:doorag: & the hint of gas may simply be anything else & that you are hypersensitive now :coffee:

Thanks for letting us know :firstplace:

Definitely a little hypersensitive to the smell of gas now.
I'm glad I don't have to park it in the driveway until cool down, it's nice to just pull right in the garage. Altitude played a role, but that pinched hose was the main culprit. I'm glad I live in Denver where I have the luxury of 2 can-am dealers in close proximity!
Said I would keep y'all informed of what happened, woman of my word. Lol

Fantastic indeed! Yes, I have 2 amazing dealers here in the metro area.
BRP called me Wednesday morning first thing, quick response as far as I'm concerned.
:doorag:

Well, that is good news, I'm thinking that BRP realized that you and others becoming a human torch at the gas station, might be a problem.

Dave at RPM is Great!

Dave Communicates well and BRPCares and his staff worked well to resolve our recurrent code last October. Thanks!

Thats great news! And you will be getting the air flow panels as well? That will probably take care of whatever remaining smell you have. It would still also help to get the bypass pipes whenever you get around to it though.:thumbup:

Im sure if the dealer requests them, they will be coming soon. They have WAY more pull with BRP than I as an individual would.......she does ride hot.
No need for heated seats.......all I have to do is start her up! Lol :roflblack:
still thinking about the bypass pipes. Gonna see how she runs for a while as is.
Looking forward to a nice long ride today!:riding::riding:

My opinion on your ?

First I have ALWAYS found BRP to be very responsive to any issue (very limited trust me) that I have had....so I give KUDOS to BRP

Now as to your ? about the first dealer.....my experience has been that some dealers understand customer service and the complex machine we luv to ryde...and others just don't give a tinkers!! So Thank you for telling me the dealer that is GREAT in your estimation. I travel a lot and always keep a record of the Great, the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to dealer servicing.....

Because of some dealers just not "getting it"....if and when I break down in an unknown area...I post right here on SL and ask for recommendations. Just so you don't think it happens a lot. Last time was in 2012 in TN.(since that incident I have Spydered at least 110k miles!!)..there was a dealer close to where I was...but SL said NO NO NO...so roadside took me 167 miles to the highly recommended and wonderful dealer.

:yes: wahoo and ryde ryde ryde.

Thanks....

Great to hear back on your original thread. Always good to hear when things get resolved and the solution is simple but clear. Glad you got such good service all around and that you are back on the road ...:2thumbs:

There are good dealers, great dealers, and dealers who don't give a damn, once they have made the sale. I made the mistake of buying from one of the later type - after sale service sucked, and was dangerous (they left parts off the brake system after doing a simple job)

I was fortunate to find one of the great dealers, just 90 miles from home - I'll never go anywhere else unless I'm on the road (got a 4,600 mile service at Pitbull in Springfield, last year while on a 5391 mile trip)

Stick with the dealer that was able to find and fix the problem.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. When someone actually looks for the real cause of the problem it will get fixed. Instead of saying they are all like that is BS. Hope you get the 2014 panels. Won't help with the remaining gas smell but big improvement on your comfort level.

It would be interesting to know which hose was pinched and where. If you could find that out. May be helpful to someone in the future.

:congrats: I'm glad to hear that it was quickly found, and fixed! :2thumbs:
Now; it's time to start piling up the "Miles & Smiles"! :D

The ST is a great ride, I really enjoy it. The down side is the milage. I was averaging 27 MPG. Now that I put on the bypass pipes I am averaging 32 MPG according to the Spyder Code app that I found to be the easiest to track the mileage. That also translates to more horsies and More smiles per miles as well.
