I have put over 2,000 miles on my bike since the DPS and torque angle sensor got changed and have had no problems. That would include two driving snow storms, a week straight of 25 - 30 mph winds with gusts up to 50 mph; 95% of that direct crosswind, and wildly varying temperatures from 90F to 29F.
One thing I have noticed is that if I try and straighten the handlebars out to soon after I start the engine, I don't have steering assist. As in, press the start button, engine barks, and I try to straighten the handlebars. I looked once and RPM was around 900. Evidently the DPS gets it's power from a bus tied to engine running? If this bike has such a thing? I finally have a manual, but haven't dug into the wiring diagrams yet. Whatever, duplicated it consistently so know it is tied to the engine needing to be at least running at idle.
