• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

upcoming Big Announcement.....hmmm, what's it going to be?

Minor styling Upgrades to the RS and RT line with the new ST priced higher than the RT Limited.

ST line to compete with the Goldwing Trike line item for item.

New colors. Same motor and transmission, belt drive but different programming to increas torque and shifting points.

New design on the trailer.

All the prices across the board will be higher.

All guesses on my part as I have "0" contacts at BRP.

Out of all the posts, this is the one I feel is most likely...

Well it's a very important decision...

I would like to see this "ST"model come in at a price point comparable with an RS. A cheaper price might capture a larger number of buyers. I'd love an RT limited but I'm tighter than tight. The RS ergos don't fit my arthritic ol' body. I've been on this forum long enough to have a Spyder, but for reasons of health, and unforeseen circumstances I don't. I love this forum though.

I believe the ST is the replacement for the RT with a "new" RT in 2014 to go up against the Goldwings.

2013 Spyders to get bigger engines, more horsepower

Stopped by Can Am dealer in Nashville today. Sales guy on the floor stated sales meeting revealed bigger engines definitely coming on new 2013 models, and to expect other changes as well but that the BRP was being very "tight lipped" about the "other changes.". Corporate announcements on new models this Sunday, and local dealers should have details on Monday morning.

Anyone else got any scoop? I'm really hoping for the rumored ST/ST-S to materialize this model year

I got cold feet yesterday based on what's being said here. I was ready to pull the trigger. My hesitance was whether to get an "M" or "SE". I asked the salesman how long his numbers would be good. He said till the end of the month. Hence, I decided to wait until this coming Monday.

To everyone who wants to know what's the future for the Spyder lineup for 2013

The one question which will be answered for many

Was the wait worth it ? or was it worth the wait ?

My question to Bob Denham

When does TICK TOCK become TICKEY TOCK

Don't know the time the question will be answered, But being on this side of the Pond - Bet its sometime during the Night
so no sleep that day or night, Just have to keep logging in

I posted this back in August and haven't changed my mind since. I think the new ST will be closer to the last paragraph below.

With the way the machines are apparently selling, I would venture to say that BRP won't make much change in the basic design and features until the present model runs its course. I think they can keep growing their market with cosmetic stuff like colors, options, etc.

It would seem to me that there isn't a huge market above thirty grand, so that would seem to limit 1,500 or 1,800 cc's and a huskier tourer. There is a market there, just not a big enough one IMO.

There may be a market down in the ten to twelve grand area for them. Maybe in the 700-750 cc range with fewer bells and whistles. If I was their marketing guru that is probably where I would be looking.

I've been killing time waiting for 9/23 and doing a little recreational computing. IF there is a new motor for 2013 and if it's a V4, like the Aprilia RSV4, I wondered what a "Spydered" version might look like. So, I compared the V2 Tuono motor to the existing Spyder V-twins and extrapolated the changes to the RSV4 motor. So, realizing that there may not be a new motor at all and that projecting changes for the 2008 motors to 2013 is probably a complete waste of time, see below for my wish list for a new motor...

The 990 V-Twin in the Aprilia Has had 123, 127, and 136 HP for different models so any of those 3 Horsepowers would be an easy
solution to More Proven HP!!
