• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Unhappy rider

I had to go back and read OP's Post like Yosemity Sam LMAO!!!!:roflblack::roflblack: I say I say Too funny ya Varmint!!!! :roflblack::roflblack:

Why did he ever buy a Spyder in the first place? Everything he complained about could have been know before he bought one.

I'd say if he bought such an obviously poor machine and took such a financial hit on it, he must be pretty stupid!

Made in vs Assembled in

Isn't there a difference? I think so. How much of a product has to be "made in" to be considered made in vs assembled in?

I had a similar run in with a Spyder owner at the IMS in Charlotte in March. We were at the BRP display and this guy came up and began talking about how much trouble his 2011 RT was. Handling, belt noise, low power, problems shifting, poor mileage etc. I asked him if he still owned it and he said yes. He couldn't afford to get rid of it. He too said he had had a Goldwing. BUT, he wanted to see the new 2013s and maybe trade in his 2011. :hun:. I pointed him in the direction of a salesman then pointed out the Harley and Honda displays. By the way, Wacky Dan, Bruisersbaby and myself were hard at work selling Spyders.

Interesting..!!

I love those folks..they are the ones who ask how your two strokes run with no valves..pretty :cus: good I say. He should read the labels on cars stating the percentages of parts are made where and assembled where. Bikes should do that as well. I may not have been able to hold back the giggles...!! :roflblack:

I just rode the Jasper Disaster ride in Arkansas. It sure was fun cranking it up and going around all the curves!!!! I kept it running about 4500 and up. Lots of power at 5000 and up. I have Harleys and Jap bikes and love them all. Some people just don't get it. I kept my friend that rides a Gold Wing in front of me so I didn't get any speeding tickets.:banghead: The Spyder sure feels good at 5000 and up. I tell people it's like driving a sports car without doors. This motor is kinda like my 78 KZ1000. The Guy doesn't really know much about bikes. The only reason the Spyder could use a 6 speed would be to run on I80 at 85 or 90mph.:yikes: I have a hard time getting away from people at the gas pump asking questions. Where were all the Spyders in Arkansas last weekend? I only saw 2.:spyder2:

"Uuhhh, the Gold Wing is a Japanese bike", I said.

"Nah, they told me it was made right here in the USA", he replied.

"Well I hope you enjoy your Gold Wing", I said.

You can't save them all!

Goldwings were made from day one to 2010 in the USA then no Goldwings were made in 2011 as the factory was moved to Japan just in time to start glowing in the night.

That just shows you how short sighted some people are... I own a Goldwing and it is not a Spyder and the Spyder is not a Goldwing. You drive each one different!!! and I like both of them.

This unhappy rider more likely did't even bothered to watch the dvd and read his owners manual because he's been riding for 30 years:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:.I'm glad it end up the way it did.:yes::yes:

This guy just proved once again that...

"Anything is possible if you have no idea what you are talking about". :ohyea:

Some people. I get that around where I live too, from time to time (In the sticks). My favorite is when someone in a car yells something like "You shoulda' got a HARLEY!" while they drive away in their SUV.

Some people just can't stand it when someone else is enjoying life so they want to stick a pin you your balloon. But it's like sticking a nail in a Ride-On tire.... It seals instantly and just keeps on going! :ohyea:

Nail on the head, right there.

IMO The guy at the dealership said exactly what he needed to say.

I think a dealer who recognizes that an owner's unhappiness is the result of him or her not riding the Spyder properly, then the rider needs to be told. I've seen too many posts about the Rotax engine being a rev-loving monster and I agree. It may not cure "dumb", but at least the dealer has tried to defend what most of us know to be true - the Spyder is a fine machine.

Guys like this just prove that Mark Twain was right when he said "It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so".

I gotta be honest: I hate the sound of the motor below 4000 rpms. I love to hear it scream for more when I twist the throttle. The more comfortable I get with it the harder I push it. Had a friend, whom rides a HD that he built from the frame up, give me a good-natured ribbing last weekend in front of several of his friends last weekend. It was all jokes and smiles while I sat back and listened to the peanut gallery with their lame jokes. My friend, Matt, was also sitting, listening and waiting to see what kind of :cus: he had stirred up. He was grinning ear to ear when I shut all of them up with one question: So which one of you want's to race me first? I didn't know it was possible to back pedal sitting on a Harley, but it sure is fun to watch.
