• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Unfinshed panels, no problem!

Say what you will about the Spyder, but as owners experience everyday, it is truly a unique machine. This really came to light for me when my friend’s daughter asked me to bring her to her prom on my Spyder. As much as I offered to take her in my Celica since she would be in a gown and there was a chance of rain, she insisted she wanted to arrive on the Spyder!

So there I was, driving through 3 towns slowly as I safely could so her hair wouldn’t get messed, nervous the whole way. Not for our safety, but for her done up hair and full length gown, which she had bunched up.

Needless to say, as we pulled up, she was the envy of many of her classmates. I am sure it will be a day that was talked about much on Monday morning, and a day she will remember. Limo’s are a dime a dozen, she was the only one to arrive on a Spyder.

The best part was when I picked her up at 11 PM. I turned on my NMN Magical Wizards Lights in all their seven color glory. (Thanks for the help Evan)

Yes, I am glad to be a Spyderlover, unfinished panels and all. And thanks to Lamont, we get to share the good things about the Spyder.

That is so cool, trying to decide of that is something my daughter would have done or not. She may have been too worried about her hair and makeup and dress, but you never know. Those are memories that will be remembered for a long time.

Awesome..:2thumbs: What a memory for both you, her, and I am sure everyone else!! Can just imagine the jealousy and the talk the next day!!!

Yes I was amazed myself that she was not worried about all that, and as I looked at her mom, all she could do was shake her head and shug her shoulders. :dontknow:

But in the end it all worked out great, so the crazy teen was right. Who wuda thunk it?

Very cool story, although I cringe at the thought of such precious cargo ryding without a helmet.

I thought the same thing,Gary, although the cool factor for SpyderByter's friend's daughter is undeniable!

If I did this in Massachusetts, the thing that makes me cringe is what some prom-prepped girl would say to me if I rode her on the Spyder to the dance, and then she took her helmet off! :yikes:

Neat thing to do! But how did her date get to the prom? :dontknow:

What's this about some unfinished panels?

I was not too crazy about that idea either. Nor would I normally let her ride in open toed shoes. But I had to make an exception for this night. A helmet was out of the question due to her hairdoo, and I was risking a ticket because the law here in CT is mandatory helmets for under 18.

It seems lately we read about complaints about the Spyder, some frivolous, like the unfinished panels. I just wanted to tell a lighter hearted story to counteract the more frivolous ones like the guy who would not own a Spyder just because it has unfinished panels.
