• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Um, where's the rest of it?!?

So I had my 38th birthday this past Friday, and have been hounding my wife to let me buy a Spyder since I first read about the prototype. Since we just had a baby 10 weeks ago, I figured my chances of buying one are on hold for a year or so.

Check out this photo of one of my gifts... that's right, it's the wrap off of a Spyder shipping crate. I had made a comment once that when I finally get my Spyder, I was going to get the crate to build something from the wood, and cut down and frame a piece of the wrap. The guys at our local BRP dealer thought it was a cruel joke, but let her take the wrap anyways.

Pretty funny, I guess for now this is as close as I'm going to get. ;)

My wife was pregnant when I got my Spyder...it was the only thing she'd let me get! The Spyder is a great way to get some 'me' time...love it and enjoy it.

Tell her ...

"Thanks for getting me a cover for the Spyder! The dealer said bike will be here next week" :yikes:

That should get her thinking abiout the can of worms she opened.

Good luck! We're glad to have you here with us.

Thanks for the GREAT comments everybody!!

I think there is definately one in my not-so-distant future, and I like the idea of starting to buy the add-ons. Once I had a pile of them, I'd need something to install them on right? :ohyea:

Until then, I've been living through all of you, please keep up the postings on life with your Spyders... and hopefully I'll have my own stories to tell someday soon.

Basically the problem started when you asked to buy the Spyder. Take control and buy one, she will not question the authority of a new Spyder Owner....this may be the reason I stay single.

The least she could have done is got you one of these! :D

I want that - where did you get it?

Just might have started something...

Thanks to all your fun comments, I've talked my wife into letting me put my '02 V-Star up for sale. My local dealer who is a good friend is going to put it on his lot, and if it sells, I may only be a week or two from being a verified Spyder owner!

Keep your fingers crossed!

Good luck! I sold my '07 V-Star 650 Silverado, via my dealer, and got my '09 SE5 Spyder. Maybe you will have the same luck as me!

The waiting must be driving you nuts, I hate to wait for things :coffee:

You're not kidding there! Just dropped off my bike and my dealer said that it should sell today or tomorrow, I asked if he was joking and he said no... Trying to remain calm...

Sounds like your dealer has a potential buyer in mind. I had no trouble selling my Kawasaki Concours when I bought my Spyder. In fact, I didn't even have to advertise it - I sold it to a guy at work. Good luck. I think you are going to love the Spyder. :2thumbs:

Took delivery of a brand new '08 SM5 yesterday!!!!

It is PE#3518, and brand new (only 34 miles on it when I picked it up). It was originally the full moon color, but the dealer had it custom painted in a georgeous blue. :2thumbs:

I put close to 70 miles on today, with more to come this weekend!

The only option so far are the fog lamps I had the dealer install. Hopefully scrape up enough money for a Hindle by next spring.

:yes::ohyea:

welcome to the fold!:congrats:

Spyders need good homes too.

Happy Birthday!!! It is a start. Start buying the add-ons, that is a good idea.

:agree:

Plus, you now have the sympathy of your local dealership - that is a very valuable Spyder 'accessory'. It would probably help if you went down there for a test ride at least once a week carrying the wrap like a security blanket. Just make sure you stow it in the trunk during the test ride.

Who knows, maybe they would let you take a demo model home over the weekend?!

Congrats on getting the rest of the stuff to go with your CanAm packaging. :D :D
