• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ultimate seats

Just a question from a newbie. Is the ultimate seat worth the money .I just wonder what other people think before I make that decision. Thanks terry

You need to go to an Ultimate booth at an event and sit on a demo seat. Some people are perfectly fine with the stock seat. My bad back needed the Ultimate. Don't base your purchase on others opinions.

Personally I have had 2 and would buy again. I had one on my VTX1800Neo and I have one on my 2015RTL. I can't say it's like riding a magic carpet, but it sure is an improvement, and stylish.

I've ridden many bikes over the years and gone down the road of looking for the best (ultimate) seat. I've had Diamond, Simmons, Corbin and other custom gell seats. IMHO, a butt break every few hundred miles is the best thing to do. I find the seat on my 2014 RT LTD to be as comfortable as any. Getting off the bike for fuel and a quick refreshment lets the blood flow to the sore spots and re-energizes the ride.

The accomplishments of iron butt riders not withstanding, canamjhb's comments about the value of breaks is most wise. They are for your safety.

Regarding the seats, any of them, your butt will tell you if it's worth it.

Seat

My 2014RT came with an Ultimate tall boy seat, it felt comfortable but after 50 miles or so my but was killing me. Since I am shorter it maybe because of that. I took it off and sold it and put the stock seat back on. I went to Russel Daylong and had them custom fit a seat with back rest for me. 900.00 out the door, and it was well worth the price.

When we were leaving there was a guy that drove from Iowa to get a seat made for him.

:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: ....Honestly ... only your rear will know for certain...... Motorcycle seats are like shoes you have to try them to find out ..... What makes someone happy , may make you cry - I'm serious ..... You may save yourself a lot of money with just a GEL pad .... DAVE makes nice seat inserts which you could try before you put it in ....... jmho .... Mike

i use a air hawk on top of the seat, works for me and can be taken off easy, not too pricey for a test.
