• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Both of these items were covered in previous threads, but my search did not find them.

1- there was a gas can that fit well into one of the side storage compartments on the RT. What was the source?

2- Where can you purchase the replacement grommets that do not stay on when you check yhe oil (I hesitate to check my oil often because of the lost grommets-especially the oval ones). They might have been a set for a Honda, but I can not find the thread.

Thanks-this forum has provided a lot of insightful ideas

I believe there was a bulletin sent to the dealers about a fix for the grommet issue. I decided early on, prior to this dealer fix, to glue the grommets in place using RV Black adhesive. Since then I have yet to have a grommet pop out on me. I also purchased a package of grommets from a local Honda dealer to carry as spares. It was easier than making the 300 km round trip to pick some up at the dealership.

These are great gas cans. I've got two of them...one for my RT-S and the other for my wife's RT-AC. However, be aware that they ARE NOT vapor proof as stated on the web site. I was extremely careful when I filled both of them up so as not to get gas on the exterior of the can. When I carried both cans in my RT-S's right saddlebag last weekend, the saddlebag smelled like gas. :lecturef_smilie: I've since aired it out and all is well. Overall, though, this is one great product and will probably save my bacon at some point in the future. Highly recommended!! :2thumbs:

Thanks for the reply

This is a great forum. I have always gotten fast answers to my questions. Even if I did not like the answer I got.

It is very important that the cap is TIGHT, more than what we would typically do on our standard gas can. The best way to determine this is to fill the can with fuel and then turn it upside down, if fuel leaks out you need to make tighter, additionally, you want to fill the can within an inch of the top. This keeps the expansion of fuel to a minimum. What I have found with the 2 that I have is that when properly tighten the cap locking tab is 2 clicks from the end. You might also want to check that the O ring that goes around the nozzle that makes the seal has not rolled.
