• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Twistie this...

Nooo!! :yikes: I said "turn the wheel a touch RIGHT!" you fool!!

Now we're gonna die... :p

.... in another minute or so when we hit the bottom!! :sour:

Depends....

What's the speed limit?

Depends on how fast you want to get to the bottom....:yikes: and on some of the ones I've been on in the Andes they are actually two way..:yikes::yikes: they have cut outs and some one will have to back up...:yikes::yikes::yikes: if you have a bus or truck you go with at least two helpers. they walk to the next cut out and stop anyone coming along and then one walks back and signals to them to come on ..may have changed now with better comm's but I doubt you have many cell towers out there.....

rule of thumb...the one going up is the lucky one that has to back down...old vehicles with manual transmissions....)

Those roads have always scared the beejeebers out of me. If you come to Alaska and visit Denali Park, they have some two laners that just fit a couple busses (the only transportation method allowed in summer) side by side. The drop off is similar to the one shown in the OP. If you are on the outside, a bit scared of heights, or get queasy in these situations--we have your ride. :yikes::yikes::yes::yes:

What I wanna know is.... how come whenever I travelled on roads like that & I met an oncoming vehicle, it always ended up with ME out there on the edge away from the cliff gingerly tippy toe-ing past the other bloke??

Not once did I get to cuddle up to that nice solid rock wall while the other vehicle diced with death on the crumbling edge over a 1000 metre drop!! It was always me out there, regardless of who was going up or down or who was closest to the last passing bay - I reckon they all got together when they heard I was coming & it was a carefully laid scam - I wuz robbed!! :yikes: nojoke
