There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Twin muffler header for our SM/E5s

Well my first prototype twin pipe header is finished... I think? Used high quality stainless with 5 welds on each side. I don't know what my total cost is yet but I do know that I have $187 in stainless. However, I'll never have to replace this lower manifold unless someone like "sticky fingers" lifts it while I am sleeping.

Using the 1800 mufflers makes this twin sound different. I had a set of 08 GL1800 tips laying around so that is how it is shown. I really don't prefer that square look on the end so I plan to make some stainless cone tips soon but right now I need a break. My SO and I are planning to put some wear on the seats while riding the dragons tail over Halloween.

There is a minimum of 2 inches of clearance where it exits under the drive belt. The clearance on the edge of the belt is the same as on the stock pipe.

The connections use the GL1800 gaskets on both ends of the pipes. Hanger and springs are same as stock arrangement. It doesn't have as much up-sweep as the other single side pipe systems. I made custom brackets to keep the up-sweep at a minimum. I'm just tickled with the first one... as you well know the prototype is always the toughest.

I hope the pictures are clear enough that you can offer suggestions for improvement. Sure would be nice to have a mandrel bender with dies for the bends instead of the welds.

:2thumbs: Looks Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet !!! I like the looks of the square ends !

Looks like your belt might be a tad off ??:dontknow:

This spyder is...

the test platform. Mine is a yellow/black and the SOs is a red/black. Been so busy haven't had time to tweak the belt on it yet.

How about pics of both sides of the Spyder with the exhaust mounted, down at ground level and a few from both the sides and the rear from standing level. Also, a sound clip / video would be nice if you can do one. From what I see in these first pics, it looks good.

Nice. I would also like to see a side picture. If you make more I think you could easily sell them.

Again, great work! :2thumbs:

Pictures mounted and sound next week...

I'll get some better pictures with the mufflers mounted next week. Next task on the project is to get the rear mounts finished and electroplated. I've made one set but I am not quite satisfied with them yet.

I'll get some sound too. I've heard it mounted and this V-twin definitely does not sound like a 6cyl 1800. It is nice quiet throaty 2 cyl sound.

I give credit to atadude... he did a great job on one for his spyder and that give me the courage to tackle it. As he will confirm this is no easy task. But once you have the measurements correct it is do able.
